I'm a sophomore and man idk if you feel the same way but the pre med advising is absolutely terrible. They literally won't see me b/c my major isn't in the College of Arts and Sciences. Also Concepts of biology is such a useless class and other university's don't make you take a pre req for gen bio/foundations. Also chem lab. Wish I could put a * on my transcript so med school's know it was literally insane. But yea I could go on longer.
As far as research goes I didn't receive any help from advisers, but if you go on jobs.rutgers.edu, they've got positions posted for RBHS research opportunities and they vary from public health to cancer studies so look into that!

I'm sorry I didn't reply earlier! I haven't logged in in weeks 🙁
But you are right, pre med advising sucks. I went to speak with one and he basically told me that I should apply to go into teaching programs. I came to gain knowledge about getting into med school, not becoming some kind of middle school teacher. Its almost as if he is telling me not to go into the medical field...
Anyways, I started off my first semester incredibly well so maybe next time I speak to them they wouldn't try to deter me from pursuing med school.
Also, chem labs are impossible. I only know of one person other than myself who received an A in chem I lab. And I barely managed to achieve it. 1406/1400 point lmao. The class is worth 1 credit yet is harder than all of my other courses combined!
Thank you for the info on research too, Ill look into it 😀
