Hi! I've been accepted to both SJB and UCC medical schools in Puerto Rico. Are there any past, current or future students of these schools that that could help me decide? Both schools seem great and they both have their pros and cons, but I just haven't been able to finally make a choice. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Both are good options. They use NBME exams.

However, I'd give the edge to UCC given the accessibility of research on campus, plus I like the metro much more than Caguas. SJB at one point had their accreditation revoked as well which is hard to look past.

OP, are you a resident of the island or will you be coming from the states? if the former, i think either school won't add too much difficulty in your transition. however, if the latter, i would agree with the poster above that UCC is more metro and so more commute friendly. It's near the Tren Urbano.

at sjb, most students have to go out for research opportunities. it's more limited at sjb.

but either will get the job done at the end of the day. if you're puerto rican and are able to get into upr, i would say that trumps the other island schools significantly
