SCCP & MUSC class of 2018 Interviews/Admissions

I'm hoping for MUSC location too but I have a feeling they're just filling spots now and it'll be hard to get into MUSC
 
They have less spots at MUSC than USC so i'm assuming it'll be harder to get into MUSC. Plus, who doesn't want to be in charleston?? On the supplemental application I checked off MUSC and said only MUSC
 
Got an interview at MUSC Feb. 7!

What was your interview date? Mine was the 10th and I haven't heard anything, I think they said it would be at least 2 weeks though.
 
Had mine back in November. So much for two weeks. Almost been two months for me. I was deferred until they received my fall grades

From what i understand is that musc is geared more twords clinical where usc is more community. this only makes a difference really in your 4th year when doing rotations.

Pharmacy2018: I am still waiting for MUSC as well. I hope it all works out.

From my interview there is suppose to be a committee meeting this week and also from what they told me ~50% MUSC seats filled and 45% for USC. Cross your fingers guys! Just wanted to update and let you guys have less anxiety.
 
Thanks for the heads up. I hope that meeting won't get delayed cuz of the winter storm though.

Sadly, they are. All nonessential personal have been sent home. The University is closed till at least thursday.
 
Great an even longer wait. I'm starting to feel like I'm just going to get rejected

You've applied 3 times? This is my first time applying and I only applied to MUSC. I definitely don't want to continue undergrad.
 
I interviewed on January 10 at the Columbia campus.

I haven't heard back yet. Hoping for the best but I am incredibly nervous.

Has anyone who interviewed on January 10 been accepted?

Yeah this is year 3. I graduated with my bs in chemistry from Clemson university in 2009. I have been working as a tech for 4 years while working on bring up my gpa. I have a 3.05 pre-req gpa and a 3.18 post grad gpa. I just re-took my pcats and made a composite score of 85%. I hope I can get in this year.

I'm sure you'll get in this year. You sound pretty well-rounded. I've been hearing that about 50% of the applicants this year have bachelor's degrees. I'm still a sophomore. 4.0 gpa and 50 hours of hospital pharmacy shadowing. My first pcat composite score was a 47 but I brought it up to 76th percentile on the january pcat.
 
Anyone interviewing in March?... I have a March 7th interview and am very excited, but a little nervous that I will be waitlisted because of the late interview date. Any comments??

No, I e-mailed them last week because MUSC is my first choice and I have two other interviews February and March, but one of those requires $2000 to hold my spot. So I thought I would at least be proactive and rule out MUSC if they wouldn't give me an interview... Dr. Hall e-mailed me back saying Jenny would call last week... I never heard from her, so I called early this AM and she said the next opening was March 7th...

How long have you worked there? I was a nurse in peds med/surg and then PCICU 2010-2012...

Oh I just started in July. I have 1.5 years in retail and 1.5 years compounding. This is my next step.

Have you interviewed or have a date? You should have some pull if you work at MUSC...

It's not a "pull" issue. It is my stats. My overall gpa is too low. Hints the third application. I have been working on it for 3 years. If I don't get it this year I will apply next year. I am comfortable with that.

Has anybody heard anything about when the next round of acceptances will be going out?
 
MUSC is having a meeting this coming week. Not sure about Columbia
 
Anybody from the Feb. 7th (MUSC) interview heard anything?
 
Accepted! I interviewed on January 10th at their Columbia campus.

Good luck to you guys still waiting to hear back. I know the wait is torture but try to think positively.

Congrats! I swear MUSC is way behind. Seems like most people being accepted are going to Columbia.
