Scheduled to retake PCAT but just got interview

Hey everyone!

So have have a bit of a dilemma. I am scheduled to retake the PCAT on November 2nd, however, I just received received an interview invite on Oct 18th. Per the Admissions Coordinator, applicants typically find out within two mondays from the interview date (Oct 28th likely) whether they've been accepted or waitlisted. I only have until the 25th to cancel and receive half my money back. If I do get accepted obviously there is no reason to put myself through the misery of taking it... but if I get waitlisted do you think it would help me assuming I do better?

Thoughts - should I just plan on taking it and lose out on the possibility of half a refund (even if I get accepted)?😕

Admissions committees see what you have put on your pharmcas app, AND if you said you were going to retake your pcat, then they are expecting you to still RETAKE your pcat. If you don't take it bc they accept you, they might defer your acceptance bc you didn't end up taking it (essentially you didn't hold up your end of the bargain - you know what I mean???).

It's like you promising you were going to take a prerequisite course and indicated that you were going to take it in the Spring quarter, but didn't end up getting a seat...they have the right to defer your acceptance bc you didn't do what you said you were going to, and they only accepted you because of the assumption that you were going to be able to take the said course. Get what I mean????

I think you should call the admissions of your school and see what they advise you to do - just to be on the safe side!!! And hey, if you end up losing money, it's fine, you're going to be getting loans regardless!!! So don't worry about losing a measly $200.

I believe you should call admissions as well.

Just wondering, I don't know how acceptable this would be to ask during an interview, but assuming admissions advises it would be ok to cancel your PCAT, would that be an ok topic to bring up during the interview? I feel like it's an honest question and if they like you, they would understand you're just trying to save money.

I personally don't think it's an acceptable question during an interview. I don't think it would come off well, but if they call admissions won't know who it is...so I think it's better to just call. Don't ask during the interview. Bc they still technically didn't "accept" you.

I agree. Most schools wont let an interviewer see an interviewee's credentials anyways (meaning they have no idea what your GPA, PCAT scores, etc.) so this will more than likely leave a bad impression.
