Scheduling board exams when going active

Thought I'd ask this here since the initial detailer email asking for base preferences basically said don't call us we'll call you.

ABIM boards are in August. I go active after residency July ish and COT sometime after that. How did you guys go about scheduling when it seems we won't find out our assignment COT schedule for quite some time?

First you need to register and pay for the ABIM. You have time to schedule the actual location once you've registered and paid for the exam. You will have more than enough time to schedule the location of the exam once you find out where you will be assigned in the late February or early March time frame.
