Schools that are Pass/Fail vs Graded

Does anyone know of a comprehensive list that says if a school is pass/fail or graded?

If not, maybe we can start one?

I think Columbia, and UConn are also on that list. I think UCLA has some sort of P/F system, but I heard its pretty much grades in a new form. My memory could be way off on this, but I think thats what it was haha

Columbia, UCLA, and UCSF are all honors/pass/fail.

Harvard and I think UConn is pass/fail. (AND IT MAKES A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE.)

How do you specialize with pass/fail grading, and pass/fail boards? Just based on the fact it's Harvard and Uconn + good LORs?

I think that they are coming out with a new test kind of like a gre or DAT for specalizing now that will help with pass/fail schools. But from what I understand at ecu and maybe other pass fail schools you still get a numerical grade for each test but you are only viewed as having passed or failed each test or assesment.

In my case, since i'll be going into OMS, I'll be taking the NBME CBSE. Also, we have honors during our clinical years. For OMS, they (especially 6 year programs) also take into account undergrad grades. Letters are also important (we get great ones here). Finally, externships are also significant. I can't speak for other specialties just yet; haven't looked into it.

that is a good question about other specalities looking at your undergrad grades. But I would think that if you have good enough grades to get into dental school they shouldn't hinder you to much from specalizing if you did well in dental school.

That makes me even more excited for UConn! I'm looking forward to the pass/fail haha (not that I can slack off, its just that no grades means more cooperation and less competition 😀 )
