Schools to apply to? Low GPA, high DAT

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'd probably take out Buffalo. It is not oos friendly. You should add BU instead.

Hello everyone,

I am getting ready to submit my application and was wondering if anyone had some suggestions on schools to add or to remove from my list. Here's

1. Roseman
2. LEMCOM
3. IU
4. University of Louisville
5. Tufts
6. Western
7. Kentucky
8. Buffalo
9. A.T. Stills Arizona
10. NYU (might drop)

I would drop NYU and not add BU, personally I wouldn't do Tufts either but I'll leave that up to you.

If you have some element of serving underserved populations in your extracurriculars, add Creighton. Also add UNLV, Maryland, Ohio State they offer Instate tuition after a set number of years.

If its feasible contact Louisville and ask them if you can come visit and meet with admissions office. Even if you can't reach out to them. They're friendly and they take note of who is being proactive in that kind of way.

Roseman didn't give me time of day but that's anecdotal.

If you have a good extracurricular I would put in 1 reach school ( flagship state school or Ivy). The bright spot of your application is that you did solid on the DAT and have a massive upward trend.

Please make sure a few ppl have read your personal statement to make sure you're providing a reason for low GPA and what you did to fix your course without sounding like you're making excuses. It needs to read well but not be evasive in taking accountability unless of course you had some huge external factor.

Had similar stats (better overall but worse science GPA but same DAT score) and got into Indiana OOS. I think you’ll have a good shot at getting into IU.

Can’t help much with what other schools to add, sorry!
