I am a Senior at the University of California Santa Barbara looking to apply to schools for admission in 2017. I have a small list of schools I'm considering applying to but wanted some advice on other schools to consider. I'd prefer to stay west coast but am weighing my options nationwide. Any advice is appreciated!

Stats:
  • 3.8 GPA, 22 AA graduating with honors
  • significant clinical experience through hospital and dental clinic rotations
  • 1 year of experience in a research laboratory
  • LOR from multiple professors and dentists
  • white male
  • strong leadership skills and experience through volunteering/job as learning assistant for Orgo

Hey man, sorry for the brevity, on a phone rn rather than PC. One thing though, you being white is completely irrelevant to your application because you want to stay out west; Howard and Meharry are in the South and those are the only schools that would care about you being white. Being male has zero to do with admissions at any of the 65 dental schools in the country.

1. UCLA
2. UCSF
3. UoP
4. UNLV (in state after first year)

As far as not out West

5. UConn (my bias and in state after first year)
6. Pitt
7. Michigan
8. Ohio State (in state after first year)

If you want me to elaborate lmk and I'll do so tomorrow

Awesome thank you for the help!! had no idea about the white male part either haha but appreciate the insight
