Does this HP class count as science gpa? Title is biological basis for diseases

How about a gerontology class: neurobiology for aging

Or this psych class: behavioral neuroscience

Do any of these 3 count for science gpa?

I dont think the psychology will. I cant remember for sure, but I think psychology prefix is specifically classified as non-science by AAMC. However, the others should. Also remember that its you who decides first if the calass should be listed as science or non science and they may/maynot be changed during the application verification stage. I had some iffy classes that I listed as science and they went through unquestioned. My advise would be to list them as science if they help your gpa. The worst that can happen is that they are discarded from science consideration during verification.

Ok thx
But the psych class is neuroscience and the course itself was heavily bio based

Right but the first thing that person looking through at your classifications will look at during verification is the prefix of the class and what you classified it as. They are extremely busy and don't spend much time on each application so the prefix of the course may out-way the whole title.

My advisor says that hp- biological basis for diseases won't count because it's an Hp class?

I took a psych course also titled behavioral neuroscience and it was accepted as a science course. I would classify all 3 as science.

I thought I'd tag on here - I'm taking a class called "Biodemography of Aging" that at my school is sometimes offered in the Biological Sciences Department and other times in the gerontology department. Even if it's gero, do gero classes count for sGPA? My friends have said yes but I wasn't sure..
