It would make me hesitate to apply there. I would only apply there as a backup because I prefer to avoid locations that repeatedly have ranked among the worst places to live for various reasons (air quality, crime, poverty, etc). It really is sad, because Wayne State is a pretty good school from what I have heard.
Wow.....you managed to make a post without a spelling error (I'll let slide the fact that you apparently deny the existence of a comma button on the keyboard). Granted, you probably had to do a Google search to find countries that were allied with Germany during World War II, because I quite frankly don't think you've got the requisite knowledge to name three fascist states, since you seem to have problems with the academic equivalent of remembering to put your pants on before your shoes.perhaps you should apply to Germany Japan or Italy ...👍

Does this mean that you would avoid Baltimore, Chicago, St. Louis etc?
Something. Please say youre on spring break or something.
I'm one of them, although those three are better than Detroit in my opinion, in that it seems like it would be easier to commute into those areas from a suitable living area.a lot of people do...

I don't hate Detroit, Baltimore, St. Louis, or NYC. I just would not live in those places if I had another choice and have to wonder out loud why everyone seems to cum in their pants every time NYC or Boston is mentioned. I actually like Chicago and would live there (at least in the suburbs) if given the chance. That is all.Don't bait DKM here. Next he'll come in and share his hatred of NYC, New Orleans, and yeah, probably those other cities. DKM -- we all know already. Your need to invade every thread with your feelings about these cities has gotten a little old.

Maybe it's because there are things to do there that you just can't get in the suburbs. But hey, if you're cool with eating at Chiles or the Outback everytime you want to go out, fine, the suburbs are great. Plus, I've heard that going to the ciniplex is a blast and let's not forget the big mall.

And I've never eaten at a Chili's.![]()
If you've never eaten at an Applebee's, then I'll be impressed. 😀
Last time I checked (which would be last month when I was in Chicago to visit a couple of the museums), you didn't have to live in the city to have access to those "things to do there" that you mention. In fact living outside of a city allows you more money to go take advantage of all the positives while avoiding all the negatives (traffic, crime, exorbinant rent, etc).
I see your point, but at the same time, you have to remember that you're not talking to some 20 y/o typical premed who wants to party in his spare time and has trouble reasoning through anything with real world applicability, like....say a budget?
BTW, I can't tell you the last time I went to a mall or a ciniplex.![]()
My future in-laws love Chili's. We go there every single time we go out with them.
Anyone ever been to a Benigan's? That's the place I eat with my SO's parents. It would make me hesitate to apply there.
OOS tuition is quite high, though they told us at the financial aid seminar that they consider you a resident after one year, unlike UMich.... and yeah, I didn't believe it at first when I heard it either.
Because nobody wants to live in the midwest

I wasn't planning on applying to JHU anyhow, while I am planning on applying to Wayne State (it will be a state school for me most likely me). Then don't go to Johns Hopkins (its in the hood)

It's in Detroit.
Some folks can't cope with the D.
that's why they try to sense if the oakland county kids could actually handle it during the interviews
Like, oh my God, those homeless people totally freak me out. It's like, I can't lock my doors hard enough when I'm driving south of Eight Mile. They should like totally move Greektown to Birmingham.

I just have to add this. I was there last year and they have by far the worst and UGLIEST library I have ever seen in my life (no offense and just speaking the truth). And if the library is ugly, you know what that means to a premed.😀

come to think of it, they never did show us the library on the tour...
You're right - but I did check it out on my own afterwards. It ain't the most advanced library, but oh well. I heard albany's library is a lot worse anyway...
Oh yeah. Bennigan's is like the Chili's that failed. 🙂
yeah... I don't remember seeing it. I think that new addition to scott hall is supposed to update a lot of the facilities, but that won't be done for another two years. It seems like everyone studies in the small group rooms on the second floor in scott hall anyways
