Okay, my attempt at an ISO for Beans

My read on Beans after consideration of the posts below is neutral to slight village-lean, but I'm still open to the possibility of them being a wolf plant for mayor, see below.

Greetings, fellow fairgoers - my name is beans, and I would be honored to serve as your new mayor!
I know times have been hard for us since Mr. Harlan retired and that our fair doesn't feel quite the same, but I believe that I can carry us into a new and prosperous...week or two!
I have exactly *checks notes* one game's worth of experience...which in the eyes of some may not be a lot...but, you know, sometimes new, young blood is what you need!
If you elect me mayor, I promise to hunt down anyone who threatens to disturb the peace (looking at you wolves), to attempt to figure out the art of memes, and to lower the price of funnel cakes and deep fried Oreos! We all know we're paying way too much for those...

This reads as a decent but generally half-hearted (i.e., no pet pics and taxation promises) campaign announcement, but at this point Beans was running basically unopposed, and we've seen what that can do, inside the fair and out. I generally don't think an immediately willingness to try is wolfy, but not 100% town either. Worth further assessment of Beans as play continues. I know that PBC had given some really good reasons WHY a wolf would want to avoid a Mayoral post, but some of those may be negated by the n00biness of this game.

Dear vampy, admittedly that's a hard one bc we really don't have much to go off of here.
The best I can come up with is we try to pick out anyone who has acted even a little suspicious. Anyone rub you slightly the wrong way? Say something that made you blink twice?
Maybe throw some gut reaction reads lists around too just for funsies?

A little suspicious that Beans is our leader but throws a lot to Vampy. While we all love Vampy, this seems like it could be a player unwilling to make calls themselves for fear of drawing too much attention.

I would love to hear anyone and everyone's thoughts at this point!
(Everything is helpful so don't worry if you feel like your thoughts aren't great or if you're not sure who may be wolfy...in my last game I don't think I had a *good* reads list until the end of the game.)
Consider this a kind of town hall situation!

Truth - but I also think that Beans should be a leader and direct their flock a bit better and be willing to take the heat of putting a few people up for discussion.

Also, spurs raises an interesting question - other players with night actions (if you are comfortable sharing) were your actions nullified?
I would ask the wolves directly if their night kill was nullified...but I get the feeling they may not want to answer me 🤣

I fear some of this is my noob showing this is only my second game and my first one with actual roles (we were all vanilla in my first game and people got actions with items). So the roles are new territory for me

This feels very wolf-coded, and I know we've already beat this dead horse, but it's a big reason that I am generally suspicious of Beans. But, their explanation makes sense and yet.....still can't shake the quiet Kill Bill "reeee-ruuuuuu" music that's going off......

I'd like to hear more from them, especially since they missed the mayoral election. Could be that they are just busy, but I don't feel great about them right now.

I don't really agree with their choice of yeet - or, at least, the reasoning behind it. I think that it could be an easy cop-out to attack a basically absent player that will make for a potentially easy yeet in order to save their packmate (if they were a wolf).

This is exactly why day 1 is sooooo hard - there just isn't much of anything to work off of.
I have to say I am very impressed with everyone's sleuthing so far, especially all of the new players!! I can tell lots of thought is being put into it. That's the kind of energy we need to get a village win!

Generally good-natured support from our Mayor.


Summary: Generally good vibes but behaving a bit like a politician afraid to make waves, which might make sense BEFORE/DURING election but not AFTER. I'd like to see Beans step up to the plate a bit more and provide better leadership, direction, and explanation of reads.

I think it’s good to be a little self-conscious. Especially since it looks like-going off of what Indy said-an innocent joke could be taken the wrong way and it snowballs into a misyeet

True, but I learned a lot from it!!! It takes a while to get used to everything and sometimes you just gotta learn by doing.

And "learn by doing, Indy style," would be managing to look so suspicious that I may have gotten the fastest yeet hammer ever (thanks to Fruit's sly final play, too).

Fruit’s flip-flopping plus their reputation as a tricky player makes it hard for me to gauge anything about them, besides the fact that they’re very active. As for the people who haven’t said much, I’d rather not throw shade just because they’ve been silent. I know silence can speak volumes, but I’m operating on the, “innocent until guilty,” principle.

As others have said, don't ignore those that are inactive, but instead look at their behavior and try to determine if there's any pattern to it. For example, I looked at @sksisk , and I need to go back and take a closer look, but it feels really "checked out" to me beyond what a wolf would try. Especially because villagers tend to choose to eliminate non-participants early because even if they are village, they're not helping and it's better to get them off the board. So, it doesn't feel like a strategic pattern. Whereas, I could be convinced about basically any other less active player based on pattern of behavior, like T4C or you (though you're less active now!!).

I could be totally off about this but I'm trying to right my poor game choices of last time, which mainly involved memes, gifs, and ****posting.

i was mayor during the GoaWWts game so i viewed bean’s response as a new mayor looking for guidance from a player that has been in the position before, but i don’t want to give too many pointers bc we learn as we go! and it’s no fun when you have someone telling you:

• then we do B
• afterwards, C”

I've lowkey been waiting to see if they come defend themself after I yeeted them this AM. Since they haven't, I've also gotten this vibe.

Now my question is do we want to yoink a consistently inactive player or has T4C's defensiveness made them a real suspect?

second this !! i think it’s also important to not hyperfixate on what wolves can and can’t do. putting out detailed strategies in chat will give them the opportunity to pivot and change their plans.

FWIW, 3P players are a new mechanic for me. Last WW I played was prob 10+ yrs ago. Back in my day….

I think that T4C reads sketchy for me, and they're both leaning into their previous experience while using time to distance themselves and make them seem like a complete n00b. This could be genuine or could be an attempt to deflect and make us think they're on our level (when really they're playing 4D chess or something like that). I feel the ickiest about their behavior RE: "bandwagoning" and immediately throwing blame around as soon as people became a bit suspicious of their actions. It feels a bit panicky and desperate, manufacturing blame on those who'd point the finger at them.

I'd be open to a T4C vote.

Beans-V for right now. The asking about night roles struck me as sus, but since they’re still kinda new and this game is different than the one they played previously, I can see it as a genuine mistake.
Rae- Not getting much of a vibe
Fruit- Hard to read. They’re everywhere
PBC-V. They’ve been actively trying to piece together clues and pushing inactive players to contribute
Indy-V. They’ve raised some fair points about player inactivity
Vampy-V
Spiane-Slight W. Mostly because they were there for the mayor vote and just sorta peaced out afterwards.
Nicole-Slight W. The few times they’ve posted haven’t yielded much in the way of info or thoughts

Myself-Looking back, I can definitely see where the W vibes come from. I have been inconsistent and my reason for staying quiet and then posting are kinda contradictory. I would like to say I started posting well before I got put on the sus list and continued doing so even after finding out that everything gets hyper analyzed here.
