SDNers notes about Qvault RC.. easier than the real thing?!!!

Hey guys,

I have seen a lot of SDNers mentioning Qvault RC as easier than the real test
Actually what I am seeing passages of 20ish paragraphs per passage is lots of information that is really tricky and hard to search and destroy
Kaplan method is wasting of time... so I am doing search destroy with taking little of the keywords

What I started with 20-18-18- and now I just got 15!!!
With top score I got 20-20 and still one test left

what is freaking me out is what some people say here that Qvault RC is easy comparing to the real thing.... and the fact that I see Qvault RC is really hard!!


for those who took the test... can you compare between both?

I thought my RC was on par, or maybe even easier than Qvault. I had 14 paragraphs for the first article, and only a little more than that for the second two.

Bro I got frustrated with the 15 I just got... Kaplan method allows me to be done with only two passages that's why I switched to search and destroy
What makes me feel confused is what some people say that the real test is very tough to be search and destroyed (especially my english is 2nd language)
I feel like topscore english is fair but again people say topscore RC is way easier!!

I feel exactly how you feel and my test is also in a week lol. I just pray that topscore RC is similar to the real one.

I hoping for this on my test, because CDR usually gives 3 passages of 21-23 paragraphs

qVault RC is NOT like the actual thing at all.. it's composed of 95% S&D questions whereas the real thing has much more tone / inference type of questions.

CDR is the best. Questions in my RC were eerily similar to CDR and also 2009 ADA RC.

how did the length of the passages in CDR compare?

Yeah my third article I ran out of time from using Kaplans method so I understand what you mean. I tried to use kaplans method until I answered the first five questions and then do search and destroy. This way I could also answer most "inference" or "tone" questions. The other people on here are right, the real thing has less Search and destroy than Qvault. I probably had 3 inference/tone questions per passage if that helps. When I said my articles were easier than Qvault, I meant that they were easier to read. The questions may have been harder than Qvault.

Currently I am doing CDR .. For the first 3 tests I did... I had many articles with 10-15 para.. Maybe 1 or 2 were more than 15 paras...
