I really hope I'm not being redundant by posting this on the forum but there's a LOT of information here and it's easy to get mixed up.

A quick background:
-I'm a non-trad. Studied Bus-Econ during undergrad and became a CPA... Long story short, now I want to go to med-school.
-I just recently completed all of my pre-reqs except for Orgo II which I'm taking in spring.

When studying for my CPA exams (there are 4) I used Becker CPA review which consists of 4 books and a group of CD's with video lectures on them that you watch while going through the books at your own pace.

The reason I mention this is because I got used to using this type of style to study and I think I would be successful on the MCAT with this style so I'm trying to find the right course for me.

I DO NOT want to attend a class. I like the self-paced style where I can study wherever I want when I want to and take breaks on my own.

From what I gather on this forum, Kaplan has a very good online study system but their materials aren't that great so I'm close to ruling them out. TPR seems to have better materials but I don't know how good their online study system works but I hear it's not as nice as Kaplan's. TBR seems to be the favorite amongst most people on this forum but are they just books and no software?

I already have all EK books and have been using them to supplement my classes and I like them a lot. I'd like some advice from you guys about which computer based review course would probably fit my needs best.

I've had a really great experience with the free videos and printed materials on the WikiPremed site so far. However, if you'd rather buy your learning materials, maybe consider getting the Princeton Review online course?

I've got wiki premed bookmarked but I haven't really browsed it too much. I was under the impression that most people either attend a class or go with a software base study solution for the MCAT but I'm coming to realize that a lot of people self-study. I am used to the software style and I think it will be good for me to replicate the testing conditions as much as possible while studying in order to prepare. Trust me I do t have a hole burning in my pocket to throw money at a review course and I want to save money but I am more than willing to invest in a quality review course o rnsurevivonly have to take the MCAT once in my life and then put it behind me.

How good is TPR's online review? And TBR had nothing computer based?

the only thing that TBR has that is computer based is thier full length pracice tests

only kaplan out of all the prep companies gives you a full system that you can go through on your own- they have a recommended timeline for you to follow. Thier online interface is desidgned so that you dont have to attend a class and the course can be taken anywhere via the internet

Now some questions the quality of kaplans materials some say its not like the real mcat while others are happy with it.

kaplan gives you a lot of practice and tons of material to work with. I like them for thier practice, i am not totally fond of thier content material. If the material is recent then its okay but for a more thorough understanding TBR is the way to go!

The online interface is very clean neat and well put ( its the most comprehensive one out there). I have never used the TPR interface but so far i havent heard anything that makes it sound goood

even their review books are available for you online so you can review whatever content you want

You're pretty much right on with what I've heard and what I'm thinking. I haven't heard anything to make me feel that TPR online is good enough to pull the trigger and I know Kaplan's online sounds really good but the material isn't on par with others. I'm leaning towards TBR supplemented with my EK and following SN2ed's study plan.

chad's videos on ***********.com

Found them. They're new to me. Thanks!

I really struggled with PS and after watching Chad I've reallllly improved, n=1, but I think it's something to look into
