Luckily for me I'm not taking the test until Monday but for the ones who are taking it today I made this thread for you 😛 Hopefully everyone did better than expected.

Verbal: 461/99
Biology: 434/90
Reading: 443/95
Quant.: 442/93
Chem: 455/96
Composite: 447/98

I have a question, I took the PCAT today, my scores were:
Verbal: 40
Biology: 96
Reading: 40
Quant: 83
Chemistry: 68
Composite: 74

My GPA is 3.7 at the moment, and I am applying to UMES which is not too hard to get into. Is this PCAT score high or enough or should I plan to retake?

Verbal: 478/99
Biology: 483/99
Reading Comp.: 441/94
Quantitative: 442/93
Chemistry: 485/99

Composite:
466/99

🙂

First time taking it in July:
Verbal 423 - 82
Biology 421 - 80
Reading 420 - 76
Chemistry 402 -48
Quantitative 391 - 26
Composite 411 - 65

Today's Score:
Verbal Ability 419 - 77
Biology 465 - 99
Reading Comp 434 - 90
Quant 413 - 64
Chemistry 439 - 91
Composite 434 - 94

Not going to take it again. I hope the second score is good enough to get in although my undergrad GPA is really bad at a 2.7 (started college in 1999 and graduated in 2005). I do have a 4.0 in my MBA classes as I'm half way through (6 grad classes) and I have 8 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.

First time I studied Official PCAT practice test and Kaplan along with re-reading text books. Second time I restudied Kaplan and bought Dr. Collins. I used Dr. Collins more for time management and the practice tests are really helpful.

So did you find that

Did you go over Dr. Collins review materials too? Or did you just jump to the practice exams? I'm taking the test on Sept. 28 and I'm nervous as heck! trying to figure out what is the most efficient way to spend the last 2 wks before the exam. How much time did you spend on Dr. Collins materials? Any feed backs would be appreciated! btw, you did a great job on the exam! 🙂

I got Dr. Collins beginning of August and worked out a plan to study 2-4 hours a day on it. On the first pass through I studied the review materials and did the practice tests marking all those I missed and guessed on and made sure I understood why I missed them. I found that my biggest problem was time management so I did all tests timed. Last two weeks, I studied just Bio, Chem, and Quant and redid just the practice exams again. I also did the same with the Pearson tests. For both Pearson and Collins, I found the PCAT to still be harder than the practice material. It became very important to not only know the material but be able to retrieve it fast, hence practicing the questions is important for it to become almost innate in answering them. You will also notice patterns to recognize from the Collins test that you can apply to actual PCAT. Hope that helps. I would repeat tests that you are deficient on over and over while understanding why you missed them.

Verbal Ability-409/63
Biology-425/84
Reading Comprehension-424/81
QA-410/59
Chemistry-444/93
Composite-422/83

Not taking it again to improve Quantitative and Verbal. Verbal tends to be a hit or miss since I always seem to get it down to two options.

You have a solid score, I wouldn't even think about retaking the exam.

july:
VA: 40
Bio:66
RC: 52
QA: 67
Chem: 91
Comp: 69

sept (today):
VA: 50
Bio: 87
RC: 60
QA: 78
Chem: 70
Comp: 75

i'm glad my comp went up and my bio was much higher but i am disappointed in my chem score because i did so well the first time. not planning to retake it. does anyone know if schools will even look at my july score breakdown?

i have a 3.3 gpa, did research all throughout college (ive done research at 2 of the institutions i'm applying to), won multiple research awards, have clinical and pharmacy experience, lots of extracurriculars, president of an org during my undergrad, and co-founder/pres of another org as well.

how was the pearson practice reading comprehension compared to the actual pcat? Same difficulty or was it harder?

Will the scores we were given after taking the test change at all in the official transcript of the scores?

So my girlfriend took it and got an overall composite of 86, but a reading comp of 66. I'm not really familiar with PCAT scoring and what's good, so I just wanted to know everyone's opinion on that score? She's pretty upset about it, but I'm really excited for her cuz I think that's a good score!

Verbal - 82
Reading - 48
Biol - 98
Chem - 96
Quantitative - 93

Composite - 94
GPA: 3.98

Goddamn, that RC score really caught me off guard when I first saw it. Karma for not studying it, I guess =\

I could retry in January to try for a balanced score, but I dunno. I guess I'm looking for a confidence boost. A 48 shouldn't hurt me THAT much, right?

It won't hurt you at all!!! Until unless you're applying to a school where they require you yo get at least a 50 on each section! I mean even then I don't think its gonna be a big deal.

I got a 32 in reading and already got an interview and my composite was nowhere near yours!

You have no idea how relieving it is to hear that, lol.

Applying to UofT, I don't think they need a minimum 50. But then again, they have a reputation as a difficult school.

Still, thanks for the kind words! I feel better already 😀

Excellent!! What did you do yo prepare for the exam? For each section?

I was planning on getting into this in the 99th percentile thread. The answer is a multitude of sources. And not just your standard Kaplan book or Dr.Collins, etc. (though I did use Kaplan for Bio). There's a wealth of information out there that is readily available for free (or a nominal fee), presented in a format that is easily digestible and a helluva lot more interesting than sitting at a table reading a book. Why more students don't take advantage of it is beyond me, though it's likely because they simply don't know about it.

Perhaps tomorrow I'll get into specifics. I've been going since 6 am this morning, and at this point I'm just a tad exhausted. 😉

I took PCAT today and i will never try to take it again.
Time was my number one enemy; and it still will be, if i try to retake it.
I wish i post all my scores like some of you did, but i can't because i feel ashamed of myself when i see 98,98 kind of scores posted here.
so please anyone give me some advice if i still have hope to get admitted some where.

Hello!

My scores are:
VA: 419/77
BIO: 417/75
RC: 424/81
QA: 417/70
CHEM: 422/77
COMP: 420/80

They arent bad, but they arent super awesome either..
What do you guys think?

I would keep it, I'm keeping mine. I don't really get the point of retaking it once you score 80 and higher. I know I didn't do great on quant or verbal, but I did well enough, why risk scoring lower? A 90 composite would have been nice, but I feel 80 and above is just as solid. Just my two cents.

verbal: 443 - 95
biology: 455 - 98
reading: 436 - 91
quantitative: 459 - 98
chemistry: 505 - 99
composite: 460 - 99

There's just no way I would have gotten that many quantitative questions right on a paper test. Clicking bubbles + the review feature = amazing.

There are people who have gotten into Pharmacy School with a worse Composite than you did. You also did fairly well on Bio and Chem, which based on the research I've done here so far, is what I think Pharmacy Schools place more importance on. Your GPA is very nice and you have experience in the field, so I think you still have a shot. I would still try for it.

seems like a lot of people did really well! Congrats to all of you!

Tell us how you prepared for the test.

I have a question. Is there an "end exam" button on the test like on the Kaplan practice PCAT tests?
It's a button where if you press it while your still taking the exam it would stop the exam and grade it before your done with it.
Just asking because sometimes I accidentally click random buttons. I pressed the "end exam" button on the Kaplan tests three times!

I mainly focused on Dr. collins package but it was for while ago ( maybe 2009) , not that it wasn't helpful but i found the actual exam way harder than Dr. collins exams. I really thought i was well prepared 🙁((( Im planning to take the kaplan course in october. I did really bad in Reading and I have no idea why that is , i thought im on the right track but apparently not. Did you use any specific textbook to prepare?

I heard that Collins is not a good guide for reading comprehension and Kaplan's reading comprehension is really hard but I think having a hard RC helps.
Have you taken any person exams? Did you review your collins material the week before the test? If you did all you did all you studying in 2009 then what did you do to prepare this year? I mean 2009 was a long time ago could it be that you have forgotten or fallen out of loop?

I'm taking the PCAT on Monday and all I used is Collins and Kaplan.

I don't think the end button becomes available until you complete all the sections. I could be wrong though. I also think it gives you like two confirmation windows before ending any section before the allotted time is finished. I'm not 100 percent positive but that's what I recall...was mostly focused on getting the exam over with.

I took my first PCAT yesterday and i didnt do as good as i hoped. I am definitely retaking it, but i was wondering if i should use the score and try my luck with a few schools. Here are my stats:

VA 398 45
BIO 435 91
RC 386 24
QA 415 67
CHEM 430 85

COMPOSITE 413 69
GPA 3.8 (science 3.6)
3 years as a pharmacy volunteer

I am new to the PCAT world, for those of you who posted scores here, what are the real correct/wrong percentage for each section? A score of 450 out of 600 is equivalent to 70% correct? Thanks in advance!

a score of 461/600 on verbal is equal to what percentage of correctness? Thanks.

I meant the collins package is for 2009, and totally agree with you collins RC was really easy. Im gono try the kaplan course , hopefully that helps. Good luck on yours 🙂
