Hey,
This might seem like a dumb post but feel free to roast me if it is. I am bored. I work in the ED and am really bored. I've been out about 10 years and I am tired of getting up and going to see patients. I've even reduced the number of shifts but feel no passion. All the presentations just start blending together and isn't really fun. I am doing well financially. I've tried other careers, dabbled in a bunch of things, did physician advisor work and consulting as well. I still like medicine and would like to keep doing it but I want to do something in medicine where I don't have to get up and go see patients every few minutes. I didn't want to look at slides so pathology was out. Would it make sense for me to do another residency in radiology? Is there no other way to switch into a different field of medicine that doesn't involve fillers, botox, and GLP-1? I don't mind sitting at a computer but it's the getting up at random hours and going to patient rooms, listening to the histories and dealing with the not so nice people. I just don't want to be an attendings b!tch in residency again. I have toyed with the thought of going back before to radiology but keep talking myself out of it. Curious to hear your guys thoughts.
