Hey all,

So I'm finishing up M1 and used the Lightyear (LY) Anki deck + Boards and Beyond (BaB) to prepare for classes. I'm about 8k cards matured for LY and thinking about jumping ship to Zanki. The only reason I chose LY was because of the easy "workflow," but when Zanki is sorted by date the workflow is pretty simple and I get the feeling Zanki is much more comprehensive (plus, I prefer the cloze deletions + explanations). I have about a year before taking the Step (so, about 80-100 new cards a day when factoring in Zanki pharm and LOL).

The good part: we are Pass/Fail. Also, I want to take Zanki from the top since I feel like I have a strong enough base to zip through cards while picking up new bits of information I missed in LY.

The bad part: when I start M2 next month we have required lectures 9-5. Upperclassmen say they just plug in their headphones and drill through cards, but I'm not sure how much they actually get done since I've heard our second-year curriculum doesn't focus on the high-yield stuff.

I'm pretty torn since I still have quite a bit of Boards and Beyond videos to get through, all of Pathoma/Sketchy micro/Sketchy pharm... not to mention USMLErx + UWorld.

Any thoughts? Do I stick to LY or do I send it to Zanki?

We are in similiar boat.

I just started OMS2 year.
Over the summer, I went thru sketchy vids, both micro and pharm. Now I am running thru the Pepper decks of micro and pharm as well.
I think that's all I'm doing this block, since GI block is quite important.

When are you starting to do Q's?
I've heard Kaplan > Rx.

I've heard LY and Zanki are the same. Since you're already crushing LY, why not stay on that route.
I need to start flipping thru that deck. Did you just do it cold... or do you search cards and make subdecks?

Check out the step 1 subreddit - many have done well with LY.

If you want to switch, you should, you have pleny of time and I’m sure you can breeze through the blocks you’ve already done in LY.

Personally, I feel completing either deck to 100% maturation will yield similar results.
