Shadowing doctors

What is the best way to start finding out how I can shadow a doctor? Do I go strait to the doctors or is there another method?

Big hospitals usually have volunteer department. You can ckeck with them to see if they have any special program for premed.

I volunteered at a hospital and got in good with the nurses. They hooked me up to go see all sorts of funky procedures... OR, shadowing, radiology, etc.

Don't underestimate the connections that nurses have!

i made up several resumes (about 12) and randomly went into Doctor's offices and left my resume. I was looking for work, but one of the Doctor's, the last that I went to, suggested that I shadow her. I have been there twice and she has been absotuley wonderful; quite informative. Good luck!
