I know that before you get into pharmacy school, any exposure without pay is usually termed "shadowing".

This is going to sound like a really silly question but...when you get into pharmacy school, what if you want to "shadow" a pharmacist that's not on your list for rotations. Say you wanted to "shadow" a pharmacist at a small clinic out of curiosity for their job. How do you put this on your resume? Would you still be considered an "intern" although you did not get paid?

Any help is appreciated, thanks 😳

It's not about the pay. Shadowing is the same as "observership", you are allowed only to watch. If you are also allowed to do something on the pharmacist's job description (of course under his/her close supervision), you are an intern, with or without pay.

I see. This makes a lot of sense. I work in retail, so I only saw interns who were paid. Thanks!
