So I looked at other threads but couldn't find a good consensus. I was wondering how well shelf exam scores correlated to Step II scores. So far I've taken two shelf exams and not done particularly well on either one ( upper 60s on both)?

I averaged a 78-80 raw on the NBME shelf exams (about 1-1.5 stand dev above average) and scored a 269 on the USMLE Step II exam (about 2 stand dev above average).

So pretty strong correlation, n=1 though.

Good to hear! And here I thought getting an 80-something percent on a shelf was not doing well...funny how your environment can skew your perspective...

Sure they will correlate. Probably Fam Med, psych, neuro matter a little less than the ones like Med, OB, Peds, Surg just because not as many q's from the prior subjects will end up on step 2.

I avg'd in the mid-high 80s on shelf exams, min of 75 (fam med) max of 95 (IM), scored 279 step 2.
