What does a 370 in Pharm mean? 400 in Path? Are these passing scores? Average? Below average? Someone asked me, and I searched for a link but couldn't find a good one. Thanks SDNers.

they are well below average. shelf exams are made so that the mean is 500 with a SD of 100. that means you are in the bottom 15%ile at least for both exams.

try to study some more.

i keep hearing of these shelf exams. my school does not have any shelf exams during year 1 or 2. what are these? are they worth doing for usmle step 1? and how do i get a hold of them? thanks

u usu take shelf exams during ur clinical rotations not years 1 or 2

The NBME makes shelf exams for preclinical subjects as well but not as many schools use them. They can't be purchased for personal use.
