What kind of shoes are better for women for winter Northeast interviews (weather - about 45 degrees, dry). I'm leaning towards pumps because all my boots are a little strange and they look a little more professional. But I don't want to wear pumps if people normally wear boots. Help! 😀

women will only be wearing boots if there is a lot of snow out. temp has nothing to do with it. and even if it is snowy, there will be many still wearing pumps. i personally wear some nice flats with a pantsuit. not ugly loafer flats, but cute ones.

I have these. They have a tread so they don't slip, they are loafers so can go with a pantsuit, and they have a little attitude, like me. Also, they are mad comfortable.

After my first painful interview, during which I wore cute heels (baaaad idea), I've been wearing comfortable pumps (and occasionally flats, if a lot of walking is required). I've never worn boots, but I probably would've considered it if I'd realized it was going to snow 10 inches during a Chicago interview. I think dress boots would look fine with a pant suit, though they probably aren't necessary. How much time are you really spending outside?

I usually wear pumps with a medium size heel that are very comfortable regardless of the weather. However, at one school that I knew they would be taking us outside for a considerable amount of time, I wore nice black leather boots under my pantsuit. They looked just as nice as heels and I would definately do that again if it was snowing (luckily I havent had to deal with that yet)....so just do what you are comfortable with!

I wore professional clogs which turned out to be a great choice because the day is so long and there is some walking involved. Plus, they have some treads on them so if you're walking on ice or snow you are less likely to fall flat on your face. That could be kind of embarassing. +

I don't think most women wear boots. I've seen a wide range of shoes. Wear whatever looks good/feels comfortable. At my first interview, I wore these really cute loafer style shoes with a nice heel which turned out to be very painful. I could barely walk by the end of the day. I still wore them to my some other interviews though, go figure. 🙄

I wore boots to all my interviews. They are flat (I am 6 feet tall), with pointy toes, kinda dressy, and match my suit in color. I agree that most women I have seen at interviews wore high-heeled shoes, but I felt comfortable and appropriately dressed in my boots. It's all up to you, whatever makes you feel confident.
