I am Canadian who is planning to apply to private dental schools in the US.
but i don't know whether i should apply this year or not

here is my stats
GPA of 3.3~3.4 (SGPA is about the same)
but 3.6~7 for recent two years.

I wrote CAN DAT this feb.
RC 15 BIO 18 CHM 19 AA 17 PAT 24 CARV 11

i didnt really study for the first one
so im planning to write US DAT this summer ( is it harder?)

I don't have any shadowing experiences but I can do some in this summer.
i know i have to apply early but since i don't have any shadowing experiences, I might have to apply like june or july

and I have some volunteer experiences (nothing to do w/ dentistry tho)
and one summer research experiences.
also I have an interview for research assistant next week.

Should i apply this year ?
because i don't think my application is ready

you should apply this year if you are applying to a canadian school. if you're applying to an american school, don't bother, we don't like you.

Yeah...stay on the other side of the border:meanie: There's enough competition as it is down here, we don't need Cannies from the north to make it even harder!...lol...j/k (f.c.) i don't know what to tell you, contact the schools.

What's the scale for the carving section?

11 will get you by, I think. I've seen 20's on that section before.

It's a smart idea to take the US DAT if you're applying to US schools because there are a few that only accept the US DAT.

hey guys can u tell me how long the PS has to be? & what is it on? y do u want to be a dentist? want to start working on my PS as soon as summer break starts.
thanks in advance!!

i would apply, what do you have to lose besides the CHANCE you may get in. If not, improve on scores and try again.

thanks for the advice. = )
i'd like to improve my RC section but i don't know how to study.
any recommendation to study RC?

also, how's US DAT comparing to CAN DAT in terms of difficulty and materials?
