I'm determined to become a doctor no matter what, but majorly screwed up my freshman year I started off first semester strong with a 3.76, but completely tanked second semester and ended up with a 3.29 cumulative GPA for my first year...I'm a rising senior and have started the application process on AMCAS but don't know if I should just forget it and only apply DO or take a gap year so my senior year science classes count.
sGPA: 3.56 cGPA: 3.7 MCAT (old, not 2015 version): 31
EC's: 1 year of research (exercise physiology), 150+ hours of clinical volunteering, volunteer teacher's aide at elementary schools, volunteer ESL teacher at refugee center, student health center sexual health educator, certified doula, women's resource center volunteer
I have LOR's from a bio professor, a DO, a MD, and my research mentor. All my prereq grades are B+/A-/A except for freshman year in which I got a B/C in Gen Chem I/II, a C in gen chem lab, and a B in intro bio...
