Bet you haven't seen this one before. I'll try to detail my situation as succinctly as possible: I am a graduate student in a Biomedical Engineering Master's Program with the intention of applying to medical school this coming cycle. Although the program is meant to be completed in two years, through hard work and instant, year-long regret, I've managed to complete all of my requirements in one year and am on track to graduate next month. This being said, I don't have an engineering job lined up, and I'm considering delaying graduation by a semester, as if I get an interview this cycle, it might reflect poorly on me if they ask me what I'm doing at the current moment, and I'm neither a student nor working. It's been suggested that I try to do research or clinical shadowing, but I already have over 400 hours worth of clinical experience and don't think any additional would be that beneficial to my application, and it may be difficult to find someone who would be willing to take me in for only a semester of research. What are your thoughts, guys?

Thanks in advance!

Wouldn't another semester of masters cost you like $25,000 ? If you can get out early and work something temporary, like scribe or tutor, that's much better than spending tons of money just to avoid looking lazy
