Hello, I am asking a question of whether or not top medical schools take into account someone going out of their comfort zone and doing something because they enjoy it, or are medical school actually just cGPA driven and don't care if you were just testing the waters it still brought your grade down. In my particular case it's Arabic and the next level at my small liberal arts college is impossible to get an A in (no exaggeration As are not given in this class) there is a high chance I get a B- even though I am a very competent student, it's just the nature of the class/ professor. So should I just drop it and keep boosting m GPA with other classes or should I take the hit because I enjoy the course. I want a really blunt answer not any "follow your dreams stuff" will I be put in a bad position by this course?

Thanks!

How big of an impact would it have on your GPA? In the end, probably not too much?

Depends on if your willing to take a hit to your GPA I guess.

Don't want your GPA to suffer then drop the class. If you don't care then take the class. Seems pretty straight forward. I don't think med schools care about testing the waters or whatever. They see a B- in Arabic. They like to see that you're taking harder classes and are able to handle a heavy course load though, don't get me wrong

Thank you guys I'm at a 3.7 so this B- might be enough to get me out of the A cumulative GPA range which is my biggest fear.

You can always use a GPA calculator to get a rough idea of how your GPA is going to be affected by the grade
