Hey everyone,

The past year I took the Basic Life Support course from the American Heart Association and got my BLS Certification (it's only a 3 hour course).

Should I mention this at all on my application? Or is it not noteworthy?

If you've got an entry in Work/Activities for "Other" stuff, you could include it there. Or if there's a context for your certification (was it required for another activity?) you could mention it in that context. I doubt it would hurt your app to include it (unless you put it in its own entry under Work/Activities--then it might look like you're trying too hard).

I wouldn't, everyone and their mom is CPR-certified. I didn't include anything in my application that only lasted a couple of days. I did some short-term volunteer activities that I didn't even mention because I only did it for a day or two (like Relay for Life, health fair volunteering, etc.).

Unless your strongest clinical experience is lifeguarding or babysitting, I wouldn't. And even then, if it's lifeguarding, you're required to be CPR-certified.

(In other words -- no!)
