Should I take a prereq for a school I'm waitlisted at?

I'm a WA resident and have been waitlisted at UW. I'm ranked somewhere between 10-20. Odds are slim that I'll be able to move up much since UW only has 63 students in the class. I have taken 1 quarter of microbiology, but UW requires 2. I already have an acceptance elsewhere and am finishing up the final prereq this quarter for that school. However, in the event that a miracle occurs and UW calls sometime in the next 3 months, I don't want to blow the chance of acceptance. At the same time, I'm trying to be realistic with my odds of being admitted and would rather not take another quarter of micro if I don't have to. Given my position on the waitlist, would you take the second quarter and hope for the best? Thanks

UW tells you where you are on the waitlist?

I don't think I've ever heard of a school telling applicants what rank they are in.

UCSF does too. I would take the pre-req, less chance to regret the decision to not take it later on if you do get in.

I would take the pre-req. There's always a chance they'll take you off the wait list and the cost of the pre-req is far outweighed by the obnoxious amount of money you would save by attending UW.
