For my last two years of undergrad, I was pre-opt. I shadowed, did internships, and even took my OAT. After working full time at an opt office after graduation, I realized opt wasn't for me anymore. For a time, I didn't have any sense of direction and was just working for a year as an admin assistant. Earlier this year, I finally looked into shadowing a dentist and began to really like what I was seeing. As I learned more about the profession, I decided I wanted to apply to this cycle. Right now, I am drafting my PS and wonder if it's a good idea or not to quickly touch on how I was pre-opt for a while, which explains why all of my work experiences have been opt related and not dental. Does anyone have any experience with situations like this?
