Hello fellow SDNers,

I am in a fix here and don't know what to do.....my situation is that I got the acceptance call from UNC adcoms on Tuesday and today I confirmed with the admissions office that I have indeed been accepted at the program. My dilemna is that I don't want to go to other interviews that I had scheduled but I have nothing in writing from UNC. I have one coming up on Monday and the admissions office told me that they will be sending out the acceptance packet on monday...they are still preparing it. I want to cancel so that someone else can have an early spot ...... so should I go ahead and cancel based on what they have told me over the phone or should I wait for the letter to arrive before I cancel my interviews.....

I wouldn't cancel anything until I have something in writing. Good luck with your decision.

Wait for confirmation for legal matters, your withdrawing isn't going to get anyone an earlier spot, and a two weeks wait is not a big deal. You are in anyhow so you can still tell the schools you are scheduled to interview with that you are not going, or maybe even reschedule them if you want to consider them as an option. I recommend waiting for a letter. Congrats on your acceptance, by the way 🙂

Maybe you could try to reschedule this interview that you have on Monday. Then you can cancel it once you have the letter from UNC.

thanks y'all ...... as per the wise SDNers I have rescheduled my interview in December...plenty of time to get confirmation from UNC.......

It kinda feel wrong to keep the schools in a loop .......oh well.....now it's done
