Anyone hear from SIU yet??

I got taken off their "screeners alternate" list on 11/29 (dated 11/22) and got my secondary app and LORs in this week. I probably won't hear anything new until Jan.

I haven't heard anyoen getting acceptances yet...just waitlists ("Accept when place available"). Got my letter on Saturday 12/4, interviewed Oct 18th, copmplete 8/21

Just so you know, that is *technically* not the waitlist...

Those who they intend to accept they put in the AWPA pile. SIU only sends out outright acceptances 3 times a year (Nov, Jan, March) and they only accept people with AWPA status. I had the whole thing explained to me by the admissions director when she came to visit our school. They only do 3 rounds of acceptances to keep the rolling process semi-fair but she told me that if you get AWPA then 99.9999% expect you'll receive an acceptance during one of the three rounds.

That was some good info!! I haven't heard of them sending out Nov. accpt though? Guess only time will tell.

hey guys..im an M1 at SIU. Good luck with your apps. I hate to say it, but it takes FOREVER for them to get back to you depending on how they ranked your application/interview. you can interview in august, but not hear until May..or you could interview in March and hear the next week. It's all about how they score it. But the hardest part is GETTING the interview 🙂
