Scooby, I guess I am a sort of a selfish person. In general I don't care too much about whether someone is a slacker in school, but when these people attend MY SCHOOL, I care! Why: Because students represent their school Scooby!!! Surely your monkey brain knows this. Students represent their school while there and after they have left and interacting with others. I sure don't want to be on a rotation one day and have someone label me because they had known someone from the school I went to or had even worked with them. Do you see where I am going with this?
I'm don't feel this way about the majority of people at my school. Actually most people are extremely hard working. My opinions are made in a general sense towards the original, and NAIVE, question of whether or not there are slackers in med school. There are slackers EVERYWHERE. It's an attitude that can be spread like a virus.
So, the gist of all of this is: There are slackers with poor attitudes(they probably got in through connections!!!!!!) and NOT every med student is going to be a good doctor. There must be balance in the world between good and bad. Got it Scooby, my little monkey

I seem to remember a guy once on a thread a long time ago named fists of rage. Could it be that he and birdman are one and the same. Well, if thats the case, hes still as cowardly as he was then. Hi,
I must say this has been an extremely informative, fun, thought provoking, hilarious, immature, and craxy thread. All in one.
A ton of people act more crazzy/immature/silly/arrogant b/c they are online. I know, in reality a lot of us wont act that way.
Just want to say this is a terrific thread. I'm not going to take sides on the debate, b/c i'm not sure if there is any difference between the sides, just a lot of interesting viewpoints.
all doctors are NOT i repeat NOT equal though. There are definetly better doctors and worse doctors (who trains the doctors who don't look at the results of the blood test after taking them, even though blood levels are way out of normal...). But, i'm not sure how much that is related to your performance as an MSI.
But, performance in USMLE does relate a l ot to residency placements... i suppose that is the motivation for "gunners" to do real well.
anyway, great thread. And I really like how people, like birdman, will stick to their viewpoint, whatever it is.
