Is anyone going to be attending SLU this fall or currently an MPH student at SLU? If so, how was the interview? Why did you decide on SLU? If you are currently a student what are your thoughts about the school, more specifically the BSHE program?

For the most part, you'll notice that people tend to discuss the bigger programs on this board. It's really just a function of the size of programs. More people go to those schools, so there are more people to talk about them. Someone might pop in that is going or currently going to SLU.

Which program did you apply to? Also, if you don't mind me asking what is the deciding factor on whether or not you choose SLU? Thanks for the well wish.

Yes. I'm MPH - Behavioral Science and Health Education.

I'm going to be applying to the SLU MPH for entry in the fall of 2013, so any word from current students or recent grads would be awesome. I'm planning on going for the MPH-HP, but also considering their MPH with a joint concentration in Health Policy and Epi (brand new, first cohort starts this fall) to really strengthen my quantitative skills. Health Policy and Health Services Research is where most of my interests lie, but I want to have a strong epi foundation in case I want to do more biology-related epi in the future (I have a BS in Bio). Anyway, I hope to hear from others about SLU (I live in Stl so attending would be somewhat convenient, aside from the cost)

I was accepted, but I decided 990/credit hour was excessive.

I thought the faculty were fantastic and I really wanted to go, but I wasn't comfortable borrowing that much money.

I received a list of housing suggestions from SLU. If you didn't get one I'm sure if you contact them someone can email one to you. All of the suggestions are for places near SLU. I don't plan to leave downtown, but quite a few place looked nice.
