Snail Mail LOE

So one of my LOE was sent via snail mail, the writer said that he sent it a little over a week ago. It is not yet marked as received by AMCAS and they told me letters received today are being marked as such. Anyone else have a snail mail letter that should have gotten there already still not marked as received? Should I ask him to re-send?
