Right now I have a 3.0 (in bio, chem, math, so my BCPM is going to suck now too) and I had to withdraw from a class. I think part of the reason I've done so poorly is because I'm really far away from home, which I realized now does affect your performance. I'm transferring back to a school closer to home hopefully by next semester to see if that helps remedy this, but have I already messed up my grades enough to the point of no return basically for dental school? Is it already time for me to start looking at alternative careers before the fight even began for me really? I mean I have average grades with only 10 credits since my last class got dropped, my science GPA is a mess, so I'm really, really starting to worry.
I still have time to get my grades to at a max 3.7 this semester, but with the way things are going, I think I'll at most get a 3.4 with a withdrawn class, which is still terrible given that I withdrew from a class. I'm losing a ton of sleep, my parents are starting to get upset, so should I just drop any hope of getting to dental school? I honestly think in my heart of hearts I can pick it up from here on out. I'm now starting to understand/get a feel for how hard/how I need to study to do well, which is why I have a chance to bring it to at least a 3.4 this semester, but if I don't bring it up, have I been officially weeded out?

). there is an adjustment period from HS to college. it took me my first semester to figure out how to study. I did get an A in bio when i took it soph year and realized that it was easy and I withdrew because I was didn't want to study for both G chem and bio at the same time. wow looking back i was being a pansy. anyways bottom line don't worry about the W i still got in with one on my transcript.
