So... where did you choose?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I still can't decide! Interviews and acceptances at UF, Nova, Columbia, Tufts, Kentucky and UAB. I've narrowed it down to UF, UAB and Tufts... but deposits are due!
Same, I can't decide. I just sent in one of my deposits today(BU), but can't get myself to decline the other offers(Penn & Buffalo), gaaahhhhh. Such a dilemma, haha

Deposits down at UT and UofL, waiting for HPSP decision to make my final choice.

Do you know when we're supposed to hear back from UCSF?

I called them last month, and they told me it would be around mid February actually. I think they're waiting til after they've held their January interviews.

Got the deposit confirmation at upenn. Whooo.

UAB! Choose UAB afranchise 🙂

I've lived in Birmingham for 3 years. PM me if you have any questions about the city or UAB.

Decided on UoP, placed my deposit yesterday 🙂

USC! Sent in my deposit a few weeks ago. Also got into Western, so it was a tough choice.

What do you guys think about SIU? I'm thinking of matriculating there.

The more important question: what do YOU think of SIU, after all, you'll be the one attending.

I can see myself going there. It feels like home, and I love basically everything about it. However the only thing that upsets me is the lack of specialization programs. But that is about it.

I just wanted to see what everyone else thought.

Maryland, more than grateful given my stats were below their average. Happy and excited!

The price tag is very appealing (not to mention the cost of living in Alton is very cheap). I definitely got a homely vibe when I interviewed there, and it seems like a very relaxed and close-knit community. Personally I don't care where I am as long as Im surrounded by easygoing people, so it really came down to what the school could offer me. I want to specialize and possibly get involved in academia in the future, and I realized SIU wasn't the best school for those goals. But I know specializing is easier said than done, so if I were to do the general dentistry route, I'd look to work as an associate for a while, and I assume the easiest place to land a job would be in southern Illinois (2 dentists and 1 endodontist from SIU came to our school and told us that this was the route they took/recommend). I don't mind being in Alton for 4 years for dental school, but I don't think I can start a life there. Of course, I could move back to Chicago, but it would be much harder finding a job in my opinion especially with UIC and Midwestern students right in the mix. Of course I'm getting too carried away with these generalizations, but at the end of the day I chose the school that would help open the most doors for me and give me the resources to pursue specialties/get involved in research (UCLA:prof: - however I will have to cough up more money and be forced to live below my means for a while).
