My boyfriend is SOAPing right now and has been thankful to be contacted by a few programs so far. Should he follow-up with these programs after the interview at all (like through an email or quick call saying he's very interested) or just let it to rest after the interview?

Yes; today is going to be a very busy day.

Also keep in mind, the entire northeast is in the grips of a huge blizzard. (I'm stuck at the hospital wondering if I'll get to go home at the end of my shift), so hopefully that won't affect their ability to make calls.

Email to thank them and let them know he's interested isn't a bad idea at all.

Both. I got calls pretty early, and they continued till about 8pm MST (11 on the east coast).

Some programs had more than one person call and speak with me during the day (residents, faculty, PD, etc).

I was on the phone most of the day is the point.

SOAP didn't work out for me last year (I ended up matching this year instead) so I'm not really sure...but there is a good chance from what I know.

What did you do in the year you went unmatched? I am trying to figure out what I can do that will look good on next years applications if I truly go unmatched this year.

I hear you, been waiting for a follow up interview for a program that called me yesterday and said that another member of the faculty was going to call me, still nothing.
Already cleaned my apartment to distract myself but didn't help much.

I researched the one that called me. Also as soon as I got the call I googled it, so I would have things to ask about their specific program

Applied to 41 Programs. Kept 4 programs open for Surgery Prelim just in case I match into an advanced program.
Is this a wise strategy?

Anyone has any thoughts on this ?

If you wait too long there won't be any spots left to apply to. If I recall correctly, something like 75% of spots are gone in the first two rounds.

Anyone have any offers showing up on the site? I had a few phone interviews but checking the NRMP site and clicking the "Offers" tab it just says "The next round of offers will be sent at 12pm EST"

It's now a quarter past and it still says that, so I assume it means no offers this round? I thought it was supposed to read "No offers this round" if you actually have no offers.

The offers will show up tomorrow (the 15th) at 12 pm

I was in a similar situation. I interviewed at a program and ranked them high on the list but 90% of their spots are unfilled on SOAP list.
I re-applied anyway.

I pushed the button to apply to programs yesterday around 3. ERAS says that my applications went to the programs at 9 this morning. No wonder I haven't heard anything. I wonder what happened?

Another example of ranking the places you interviewed and not relying on just one spot taking you.

You're gonna take it and say "Thank You!" Then work your tail off to prove to them that you're worth keeping on for the rest of your training.
