“Mankind are an incorrigible race. Give them but bugbears and idols -- it is all that they ask; the distinctions of right and wrong, of truth and falsehood, of good and evil, are worse than indifferent to them.” (William Hazlitt)

Most of you on here predictably follow the media circus pointing you unerringly at the latest “outraged.” People were getting tired of persecuting Latino immigrants, and it was becoming pretty obvious that they were arresting like 5-10% serious criminals and the rest were just average folks trying to get by. So, onto the Muslims. Let’s all hate on them for a while!
The latest seems to be “AI is scary!” But I really have to wonder how much of the chatter on that is Chinese bot nets trying to get us to slow down, since they certainly won’t. OTOH when you look into the details of these hacking attacks (self-organizing hierarchies of AI agents pursuing hundreds of lines of research and attack to accomplish a goal they set for themselves), and think of all the unsecured internet/connected devices where a rogue program could store copies of itself or steal processing time with no one noticing, its seeming like we’d better just hope that whichever AI escapes has a goal of figuring out the marketing plan to sell the most McChickens, not finding a way to end war permanently.
Even as you make some good points about the media circus, you go on parroting the ridiculous media narrative that legal immigrants have anything to fear in this country.

On behalf of the CCP, thank you comrade!

these posts - i wont copy and link because they are all similar - are classic manipulative and obtuse.

noone is advocating socialism and communism.

DSA is not advocating for pure socialism.

but almost everyone on the left is advocating for policies that provide a more equitable society that you right wingers falsely label as "socialism". this is not elimination of work ethic or not rewarding those who work harder, its about lifting up everyone - yes, in part by putting a cap to what the highest can achieve but not limiting anyone's potential or ability to benefit from hard work (hint getting 3% interest on $1,000,000,000 is not hard work.)

no-one on advocating for policies with a government forcing equal pay or equal hours or anything of the sort. they are advocating for a fairer distribution.

please enlighten us - which mainstream politicians call for government takeover of private industry to be owned "by the people" or more extreme, a politician that advocates for abolition of the US Constitution to form a government by the collective.

its a cheap trick used throughout the ages to generate fear and outrage
It's amusing watching you guys trying to thread the needle of "all countries are socialist", "no one is advocating socialism", "I will vote for a socialist", "Trump is a socialist", and other creative semantics.

You might as well just argue about the actual specific policies you support or don't support or you're gonna end up with permanent joint dislocations.

This is the new face of Trump's Republican party:

when you say that california and NY are "worse economically" than louisiana, arkansas and mississippi, you look like an ignorant fool. sorry. its not ad hominem, but there is just not a legitimate way to defend your position.

you think i am a dickhead because i disagree with your political positions, not because i am actually a dickhead.

i dont think i was hurt per se. parents divorced in a crucial psychosexual development stage of my childhood, but i am pretty sure i successfully dealt with that by womanizing in my 20's.
I don’t think you’re a dickhead because you disagree with me. I think you’re dickhead because you actually are a dickhead and you’re kind of a ***** who denies reality when it doesn’t conform to his ideology.

The ALEC data completely supports me. The latest 2026 ALEC-Laffer data provide both a forward-looking Economic Outlookranking and a backward-looking Economic Performance ranking.

In the latest ALEC 2026 Economic Outlook, Utah is #1, Tennessee #2, Idaho #3, North Carolina #4, Arizona #5, Arkansas #6, Indiana #7, Oklahoma #8, South Dakota #9 and Florida #10. All conservative Republican btw

he ALEC 2026 outlook has New York #50, New Jersey #49, Vermont #48, California #47, Connecticut #46 and Illinois #45. All Democrat run

So maybe not the worst. That goes to NY. 47th is pretty damn close though

Rent control, a mainstay of DSA and many supporters here, have a great history dating back to NYC where owners stopped maintenance/burned them down. To me this defies logic.

I have a bunch of rentals and if I could not charge market, then I would be forced to sell vs take losses every year. How does this even make sense.

Lets assume that rent control is a great policy and works. Why not move on to food price control and require grocery stores to cap increases. Why not have restaurant price control and cap what they can charge for meals. Why not move onto UBER share ride rate control and cap that.

Those who support rent control to increase access to affordable housing, why not have rate control on Anesthesiology income? This surely would help keep healthcare/surgical costs down. ;Would this not be a great idea or is it just the typical NIMBY; take from others but don't touch my income?

thats because none of us are doing that - the right wing is, including you.

interesting and very biased.

by this logic, the one with the best economic outlook - since 2008, 18 years ago - has always been Utah.

how has that worked for utah?

and Tenn, #2? in what world is tenn the 2nd best economic outlook?

oh by their metrics. and their metrics include items such as minimum wage, average workers compensation costs, or whetehr there has been recently legislated tax change.

whether there is an estate tax makes a huge difference in economic outlook, right?

whether a state is a right to work state is super important to economic outlook right? (unless you are Big Business that does not want unions.)

you should realize that everyone on the board has ties to the republican party and/or in their description has the embedded statement "limited government, free markets, and federalism."

i missed it... who on this forum has said they are in favor of rent control?

1789472766090.png

Anyone? Anyone?

some of the other alternatives are better than rent control. however, current systems are less able to implement these alternatives than rent control. for example, building new units costs money that those with capital would rather not invest in because they would rather exploit the dearth of units and increase profits via astronomical rent increases.

fwiw, your other examples are inconsistent. Anesthesiology "incomes" (more appropriately, charged fees) are already limited by government if the patient has Medicare. private insurers cover more if they choose.

interestingly, many in business (and the right) are upset that Mamdani decided to set up government grocery stores instead of food control and are suing. businesses and corporations are trying to get it both ways - limiting access and preventing competition.

You have to get really creative to try to say that Utah has a better economy than California. If California was a country the top 4 economies in the world would be US, China, Germany, and California. This revisionist history is laughable but not surprising.

Logical fallacy. Attacking the source/person and not the data. Bit hypocritical no? Be better

Logical fallacy. Attacking the source/person and not the data. Bit hypocritical no? Be better
no, the DATA is crap, because the source uses sh$tty metrics and algorithms.

like i said, anyone with half a brain can tell you the data is flawed.

you like it b/c it favors low tax states and takes into account right to work states, and workers comp costs. basically, it favors lower tax-burden states regardless of economic performance. it is a useless list

Logical fallacy. Attacking the source/person and not the data. Bit hypocritical no? Be better
true, but it was meant to note that this is political content and it shows where this biased data is coming from. this is not an article that is meant to publish data/science purely for the science.

discussing the metrics however is not attacking the source/person. those are quite dubious particularly with respect to economic health.

this is one of the best examples of the pot calling the kettle.

trump has tried to rig elections. tried to buy elections.
trump is persecuting his political opponents - comey, james, clinton,
trump has told americans to just deal with gas price increase. has ignored military, denigrated decorated war heros.

he actively is trying to suppress free speech and actively trying to take away americans right to vote by instituting what is essentially poll taxes, and sic'd his followers to directly attack poll workers.

he denigrated those republicans who actually stood for limited government and balanced budget such that they dont exist in political power now.

he did try to go down Penn Ave with Jan 6 mob but Secret Service refused.

otoh, as an independent, i agree that he is a populist - one who thrives on "there's a sucker born every minute" philosophy and is a grifter and con artist. he won primarily because he grifted enough americans in to believing he could offer something better, which he has woefully failed to deliver. yes, democrats and left leaners also made stupid mistakes, and they have paid the price (see jill stein supporters and those that supported palestine that decided to not vote dem because they wanted someone more empathetic to their cause)

this is a logical fallacy. attacking the presenter rather than talking points.

do better.

I know libs believe feelings matter more than facts, but at least make a rudimentary attempt at supporting your baseless statements with evidence. Then we can have an apples-to-apples comparison of “who is the most fascistic.”

Show me all those “rigged elections,” and I’ll point to an entire Democratic caucus that keeps voting against voter ID and proof-of-citizenship requirements while a border was blown wide open—something parties only do in order to facilitate mass election fraud (AKA [actually] stealing our democracy).

Show me all those instances of Trump suppressing free speech, and I’ll point to the Biden administration’s collusion and coercion of social media to censor Americans—the largest domestic censorship campaign this country has ever seen. White House, Surgeon General, CDC, and FBI pressure on platforms over COVID, the 2020 election, and the Hunter Biden laptop wasn’t a conspiracy theory; it was documented. I’ll follow that with Executive Order 14149, signed by Trump, not Biden: “Restoring Freedom of Speech and Ending Federal Censorship.”

Show whatever out-of-context footage you want from January 6th, and I’ll post the full clip. Then I’ll follow it with montages of Democrats literally calling for violence, treating 2020 as “mostly peaceful” while city blocks burned, ANTIFA assaults, and years of rhetoric that treated political violence as righteous when it came from the left, which have ultimately culminated in multiple assassination attempts.

Show the leftover talking points about Trump “denigrating war heroes,” and I’ll post the full context that’s been available for years—which you’ve willfully ignored (the exception is McCain, who had just trash talked Trump just two days prior, meaning Trump's response was an attack on McCain, not veterans). I'll then follow this up with record LOW military enlistments during the Biden presidency, immediately followed by record highs the second Trump 2.0 took office. And there's more! I’ll follow that with Democrats calling to defund the police nationwide while vilifying the actual people who protect and serve.

Show me instances of Trump “persecuting” opponents, and I’ll point out that Comey, Letitia James, and Clinton were not opposing presidential nominees on a ballot. Then I’ll point to 34 hush-money checks turned into “election interference” through unprecedented legal acrobatics, a raid on a man’s home, and multiple blue-state attempts to remove the leading GOP candidate from ballots on legal ground, while also refusing to hold a primary for their own party. This was disgusting, antidemocratic, and, frankly, dictatorial banana republic level **** we're talking about here. Furthermore, Trump could have prosecuted Hillary the first time for destruction of evidence, and for her campaign treating the Steele dossier as a legal expense—the same kind of accounting trick they turned into 34 felony counts against him. He didn’t. When asked why, he said: “I don’t want to hurt the Clintons — I really don’t. She went through a lot and suffered greatly in many different ways.” He had actual decency, yet Dems went on to draw first blood when he left office. So he learned. Yet, even now, what you call “persecution” doesn’t begin to compare with what they did to him, and is frankly well justified.

I know you’re having trouble processing that DJT is your POTUS again. That’s because the politicians you backed failed that badly. You were that wrong. Suck it up. Own it. And next time, do better.

With respect, I hate to tell you but you are defeating your own points.

You said that Fascist seeks to 1 censor/weaken elections 2 persecute opponents 3 not listen to voters 4 use political violence to stay in power. I would not say that Trump has done number 4 recently but you would have to ignore Jan 6th. The other three are in his current playbook. Voters did not elect him to make prices higher or start a war in Iran.

You then sit there with a straight face and try to tell us that Democrats do this more than Trump? You then try to diminish Trump's role in Jan 6th.

You are entitled to your opinion and are free to express it but please know that no one on this forum (even the Trump apologists) are going to take any of these words seriously.
I think you’ve been fooled. Prove me wrong.

Explain Trump’s actual role on January 6: the words he used, what he ordered, and what he did not do. Then give the real body count, the real property damage, and name the elections that were actually stopped.

Then put that next to BLM, Antifa, and the assassination attempts that followed years of Democrat rhetoric treating Trump as an existential monster who had to be stopped.

Trump’s role. He told the crowd to march to the Capitol “peacefully and patriotically.” That sentence is on tape. He did not tell anyone to break windows, assault cops, or hang Mike Pence. He did not walk down Pennsylvania Avenue with a mob. Secret Service refused that. When it turned ugly he told people to remain peaceful and go home. A heated rally speech plus a delay in certification is not “he led an insurrection that destroyed the republic.”

The outcome. Certification happened the same night. Biden was seated. No election was canceled. Capitol damage was a few million dollars in broken fixtures — not cities. The multi-billion number you hear is later security theater and investigations, not the riot itself. Deaths that day: one rioter shot by police, two natural-cause deaths in the crowd, one accidental overdose. Officer Sicknick died of strokes. Later suicides are tragic and they are not “Trump’s death toll.” Compare that to what you were told: a coup, a massacre, democracy dying in real time.

The comparison they don’t want. 2020: $1–2 billion in insured riot damage, the worst civil-unrest loss in American insurance history. Weeks of arson. Police precincts abandoned. Small businesses gutted. Deaths in the teens to twenties. Elected Democrats called it “mostly peaceful,” funded bail, and restrained the cops. Antifa ran nights of street violence in Portland and Seattle with a media shrug.

Then they spent years calling Trump a fascist, a threat to democracy, a Hitler reprint — and two people tried to murder him in 2024. You don’t get to saturate the country with “this man ends America” and then act shocked when a lunatic takes it literally, while treating January 6 as original sin.

The measure. Lives. Property. Whether an election was actually prevented. On those three, January 6 is a riot that delayed paperwork for a few hours. 2020 burned cities for months and killed more people. One event became a civic religion. The other became a weather report.

If you’ve got a different set of facts — Trump’s order to storm the building, the election that never happened, the death toll that isn’t medical examiner fiction — put them on the table. Until then, the “horrible outcome” you’re describing is the media version, not the historical one.

Liberals and the MSM are trying to exaggerate and mythologize the unremarkable events of Jan 6 into some kind of historical watershed moment.

"Unremarkable events of Jan 6"?? &*^%*&*!!?? You might want to look up the definition of the word unremarkable, I'm sure you see it once in a while on a radiology report. I'll save you the keystrokes, yes, I've got TDS as per your "unremarkable" opinion.

Uh huh sure…. What metrics and specific algorithms would you use or you just gonna keep throwing shade bc you don’t like the conclusion.

Let’s just look at debt per capita which is arguably one of the most important if not most important fiscal health measures. Cali is #12th from the bottom. 9 out of 10 of the worst states are democratic.

What is remarkable is that you try to change something that we all saw?

The paleocon machine has no shame at paltering, posturing, pandering, and pontificating.

Man what you are saying...to be as kind as possible to you...is bat**** crazy.

You keep focusing on the phrase "peacefully and patriotically, which cherry picks three words out of a 10000 plus word speech. The broader tenor of the entire speech makes frequent reference to references to fighting, showing strength, and framing the certification as an existential threat to the nation. He clearly knew there were people in that crowd who were ready to and intended to be violent, and he certainly did nothing to discourage that. He not only did nothing to discourage it, he strongly hinted it should happen.

Good thing that you are not a lawyer because if you really believe this you definitely have difficulty reading thru context clues.

No matter how you try to spin it, Trump knew exactly what he was doing when she gave a speech to an armed audience and told them to march to the Capitol. You are right that Secret service stopped him but he was fully intent to walk down with the mob. That is probably the only thing that we can agree on.

Did he implicitly tell them to destroy the Capitol? No.

Did he intend for them to disrupt the process? Absolutely.

This is indicated by his actions later as he took hours and hours to try to defuse the situation even when it was clear that there was violence. Members of his own party pleaded with him (even his own daughter did) yet he did not make any announcement to the crowd to disperse until it was clear that the "movement" was not going to succeed many hours later.

Then you try to convince us that since this attempt did not succeed it wasn't that bad. I don't even think that you believe this.

I am happy to debate with anyone especially with people who feel differently than I do about topics. However, if you really feel exactly as you have written here, you are way beyond reasonable discussion.

complete rubbish.

there are no rigged elections per se. please post documented cases of rigged elections (not reports of 1 or 2 individuals who tried to do so, but true rigged elections in the US. )

people against the trump SAVE Act are doing so because it is essentially a poll tax, which are illegal. all states require some way of identifying yourself, including signatures and signed affidavits, crosschecking with existing databases, etc..

trump suppressed 1st amendment by denying certain specific news organizations this weekend.

the next paragraph shows that you never venture outside the Foxosphere (tho in your case, it is probably the NewsOneosphere).

just recently, off the top of my head, he refused to go to Normandy event because of rain. he didnt show up for 9/11 memorial because he got his panties in a knot because he wasnt allowed to make a campaign speech (fwiw, no president ever has been allowed to do so). he refuses to classify the Iran war as a war so that benefits are denied to gold star families, and when confronted, the one to speak out is Vance, not trump.

your next long convoluted rumblings beg the point. was he actually denied being put on any ballot for Presidency?

he deserved to be prosecuted because he broke the law. muliple laws. he was found guilty in a court of law. the other cases - document and election interference - he got off because of a technicality - that a sitting President couldnt be prosecuted, as stated by his own DOJ.

but then again, Republicans and MAGA are not "the party of law" any more.

yes we as a country should do better, now that gas prices are higher than ever, diesel prices are highest ever, housing is more unaffordable, grocery prices are up, inflation is worse since he came to office, we are involved in another war in the middle east (that he promised not to get involved in), the russia ukraine war he was going to end in 1 day continues, our allies no longer trust us, and he flouts the rule of law every single day.

and you should stop listening and watching the MAGA propaganda that has so penetrated every pore of your brain and body.

complete rubbish.

there are no rigged elections per se. please post documented cases of rigged elections (not reports of 1 or 2 individuals who tried to do so, but true rigged elections in the US. )

people against the trump SAVE Act are doing so because it is essentially a poll tax, which are illegal. all states require some way of identifying yourself, including signatures and signed affidavits, crosschecking with existing databases, etc..

Hilarious. You say he suppresses free speech because he picks and chooses which news organization are allowed in the WH. News flash. The WH has ALWAYS picked and chosen which news organizations to admit entry. What Trump did was allow a lot of new organizations in who have historically never been given entry. There is more news diversity there than before. Far more. Have you criticized prior WH's for not allowing entry to these organizations? Have you accused them of suppressing speech for this reason? Of course not. You suffer from TDS. So it's only bad when Trump does it. Don't waste my time.

The idea that MAGA is not the party of law anymore suggests you think it was once the party of law? Why could this be? Perhaps because GOP cities haven't been frantically trying to decriminalize... crime? Perhaps because they didn't use lawfare to go after political opponents who were running for president?

um tell us you know nothing about the first amendment and nothing on how the WH press pool works.

hint - the press pool is made up of 5 organizations - ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox and CNN. Fox (formed in 1996) was a main member of the pool by 2009.

noone before has banned a major news organization from coming to an event. Obama's Treasury Department tried to do so in a meeting with a "Special Master", but backed down before the event occurred. so technically not obama and not with a White House/Presidential event.

trump should not have the right to determine who in the press covers him from the major organizations.

you know who did ban or destroy news organizations previously?

(hint - name a successful dictator. Marcos. Stalin. Kim Jung. Caeucescu. Khomeini. Ghaddafi. Putin.

and yep, going Godwin on you, a fav of some, maybe on this forum, but mustache man himself.)

no, i never thought of Republicans as the party of law. that is what the Republican Party has historically labelled itself in its marketing campaign.

So you think that Trump is innocent of everything that has been levelled on him including the times that the juries convicted him.

Do you really believe that?

All I can say is wow.

How can you say that he did no wrong in the hush money case or the classified documents case?
A jury convicted him and they heard ALL of the evidence.

What do you think would happen to you if you ignored several federal subpoenas for documents AND actually intentionalyl hid some of the evidence?

Why do you believe he should be held to a different standard?

Why

Just trolling you.
I find anyone overly invested in politics is missing the big picture of false dichotomy and the abject failure of a two party system.
Senate stays on right, house goes to left in November.
Then daily impeachment for 2 years until next admin takes over.

That may be one of the most intelligent things I've ever heard you say...🙂

It's interesting what's going on in Europe. Now, Austria is trying to ban political Islam from the country. What do you all make of this?

I understand it.

Look at the exponential increase of rapes and violent crimes in every European country that has allowed substantial Muslim immigration in the past dozen years, vs Poland or Hungary which actually have strict border enforcement.

It has been for a while. I fully expect groyper wing of the party (Fuentes/ Tucker) to take over in 2032 once Vance (or another MAGA) gets annihilated in 2028.

And to you supposedly intelligent physicians who support communism (yes, that’s what your party supports) I’ll leave this right here.

A supposedly intelligent physician like yourself should be more resistant to rhetorical tricks and heuristic biases. This, for example, is a straw man argument (I’m sure there are several other labels that would also correctly apply). You’re taking a position for the extreme fringes (actual communism) and acting like it’s representative of the majority of liberals. Even though that’s the opinion you’ve been spoon fed by the media you consume, it’s incorrect. Supporting a higher level of social safety net and higher government regulation of things like pollution is not the same as communism.

ugh.

no-one in the US political system supports communism.

no one has advocated for taking over private industry to head to communism. its not going to happen.

McCarthyism all over again, by right wing fascists, to try to garner votes and convince simpletons that it is better to be ruled by a totalitarian than have actual political change for the good of all.

fwiw, apparently he was the leading candidate to be VP in Vance's ticket.

A supposedly intelligent physician like yourself should be more observant and should obtain news from somewhere besides ridiculously left wing biased news sources which have obviously morphed from the trusted news of walter cronkite to the joke of modern legacy media... or you would have a better understanding of the modern democratic party. And you love to say everything in a straw man argument, you've done it for years on SDN because apparently you don't have the ability to debate ideas. I don't need to exaggerate when your party does it for me. The following may sound like exaggeration, but only to democrats with their head in the sand who fail to understand how far their party has come from reasonable center left democrats like the clinton years.

For a moment we will put communism aside. Your party continues to lose elections because 1- they don't believe in border security, 2- they believe they have to right to usurp parents rights to raise their children as they see fit, 3- they believe the government should pay for sex changes of convicted felons, 4- they believe an 8 hr old child can determine their own sex and decide to cut off their genitals but can't vote, drive, or drink a beer. 5- they believe that even more government regulation is better for our national economy despite mountains of evidence to the contrary, 6- they believe in destroying our economy to achieve their climate gaols and fail to understand that china will just take over production of those things and make them with far worse pollution than current US industry. 7- Your party oversexualizes children and encourages them to be homosexuals instead of letting children decide for themselves slowly as they grow up. 8- your party is full of antisemites who think Palestinians are innocent victims. 8- and yes your party elects communists to office such as Bernie Sanders, the Squad, and communists continue to win democratic primaries, and even major elections, such as the recent mayor of new york city.

You don’t have a choice if you vote Democrat in the upcoming elections. The DSA and their platform has taken over the party. You vote D, you vote for them. There’s no middle ground. Have you read their platform? It’s terrifying. Any moderate democrat really needs to decide what kind of America they want for their children and their future

Most of the dems have said that they are not going to waste time on impeachment. We will see if they control Congress but I would agree that if you dont have the votes to actually remove him then it is a waste of time, resources, and political capital.

Who on here ever said that they support communism?

With respect, you sir, are completely and 100 percent divorced from reality (like much of the republican party these days). Despite what you are hearing from the MAGA talking heads there is not one major Democratic leader who identifies as a communist

Mainstream Democratic leaders and candidates do NOT support communism and generally identify as capitalists operating within a market-based economy.

Mainstream Democrats focus on regulated market economies, progressive taxation, and strengthening social safety nets, rather than abolishing private property or state-controlled economic planning which is the backbone of communism.

What you as a smart person needs to do is ask yourself why do Republicans tell such lies about this. The answer is that if you mess up the entire country with policies that have failed and wars that have failed, you cannot talk on your own record and must fabricate "ills and evils" on the other side to stay relevant.

Oof, touched a nerve there. Calling out the logical fallacy is the only appropriate or necessary response when that’s the core of your argument. It’s not like I’m jumping on a spelling error. Literally just asking you to show more nuance in your worldview. I don‘t watch news ever, or listen to podcasts other than medical ones, etc. For news I pretty much just read through aggregator sites like Google News and Ground News. It’s a pretty balanced overview. And maybe we wouldn’t have this problem of socialists getting elected if Your party weren’t so grossly corrupt.

The briefing room has 49 seats. For decades the White House Correspondents’ Association handed those seats to the big legacy outlets and left smaller ones standing in the aisle or outside. That arrangement is changing. Deal with it.

Progressives now call broader access a speech violation. They were silent when conservative outlets were the ones without seats. If the claim is that this administration is more censorious than the last, the record says otherwise. The Biden White House ran a pressure campaign, often coercive, with social-media companies to suppress speech on COVID, the vaccines, and Donald Trump. That was the largest government censorship effort in modern American history, and the same people said nothing.

Progressives do not have stable values (or values at all). Donald Trump is their god. When he says bad, they say good. When he says good, they say bad. They forsake positions they once claimed to hold because they are programmed to oppose a man. Only gods have that power. Whether or not you like it, you have been duped into making DJT your god. And now that DJT is both your president, and you god, you're having a hard time dealing with it. The cognitive dissonance is palpable.

What do you think would happen to you if you ignored several federal subpoenas for documents AND actually intentionalyl hid some of the evidence?

Why do you believe he should be held to a different standard?

Why
A jury convicted him of the case Alvin Bragg chose to bring. That is not the same standard as everyone else.

The New York case was not a federal hush-money prosecution. It was state bookkeeping counts, falsifying business records, bumped to felonies by a novel theory about concealing another crime. The Justice Department never charged Trump over the Daniels payment. Cohen pleaded guilty. Trump did not. The misdemeanor statute of limitations had already run. Bragg revived it anyway, during a presidential campaign, in a county that votes against Trump by about 60 points. A jury there hearing that prosecutor’s theory is not “all of the evidence.”

Apply the same rule backward. John Edwards took roughly a million dollars from donors to hide a pregnant mistress during a presidential campaign. A jury acquitted him on one count, hung on the rest, and the Justice Department dropped it. Bill Clinton paid Paula Jones $850,000 to settle a sexual-harassment case, lied under oath about Monica Lewinsky, was impeached, and was acquitted. No criminal case for the payment or the lie. Hillary Clinton’s campaign routed opposition research through a law firm and booked it as legal expenses. The FEC fined the campaign $8,000 and the DNC $105,000. No indictment.

On the documents, Robert Hur found evidence Joe Biden willfully retained classified material as a private citizen and disclosed some of it to a ghostwriter. No charges. Mike Pence had classified documents at home. No charges. Hillary Clinton ran classified information through a private server. Comey called it extremely careless and said no reasonable prosecutor would charge her. Trump was indicted. The stated difference was obstruction after a subpoena, which was an allegation, not a verdict. Judge Cannon then threw the case out because Jack Smith’s appointment was unlawful, and the Justice Department dropped it after the election.

Other politicians paid to bury sex scandals and walked. Other politicians kept classified documents and walked. Trump got the novel state case, the special counsel, and the raid. That is not one standard. That is lawfare.

You are an adult and have free will. If you choose to turn yourself sideways to defend a rapist, poor-losing, self-dealing, corrupt felon, who could give a damn about you, then you are in your right to do so. If you were an honest broker though, you would not change and manipulate facts. Biden’s staff voluntarily reported the discovery of classified materials, and Biden fully cooperated with the investigation by granting access to his homes and turning over documents. Robert Hur that you mentioned earlier said this in HIS report (see below). This is in contrast to Trump. Trump repeatedly refused to return classified documents and then obstructed the investigation which included hiding documents. How can you sit there with a straight face and pretend that these are the same things? What do you think would happen to you if you did what Trump did? I will break the suspense. You would be in a cell.

Next time you might want to read reports that you refer to before taking up Republican talking points. Just a word to the wise for next time...most of those talking points are not truthful and end up putting you in indefensible positions.

Special Counsel Report by Robert Hur,

Socialism is communism with a better PR dept.

Democratic socialists of america are becoming a significant part of the Democratic Party.

White House council releases eye-popping cost estimate for DSA platform as socialism becomes 2026 campaign issue
The extreme of one party is trying to make health care affordable, college free, rent affordable, tax the ultra wealthy. Future generations looking at the economy wondering how they are going to afford anything. Seems like good ideas to them. What do you expect people to vote for? I’m not saying i agree but what is the other party offering for the average American?

speaking for myself, im not a member of any political party, and have never been.

i dont like the democrat party.

is the enemy of my enemy my friend? not really. but it is the lesser of two evils.

would i vote for a reasonable republican? i have. but not since dumpster travelled down that elevator and the reasonable republicans left the party.

the rest of what you spewed is right out of the right wing mediasphere with less intelligent input than a mouse running into a rattlers den.

ive learned a long time ago that there is no matter of discussing anything with someone (my father) who is so steadfast in his stupidity to believe the garbage that is spewed out from right wing media, because even though my father is a brilliant man, he is in a cult. ive tried arguing, calmly presenting reams of factual data, information, counterarguments, pictorials, books, videos, actual physical evidence, but his cult mindset will not, cannot change.

so im left with empathy for him and sadness that he - and those so steadfast in their falsehoods - will live out his days in total delusion.

Hegseth literally texting the military plan of bombing someone to a journalist, and yet facing zero accountability is all you need to know about this administration. This Schmitt guy was supposedly a prosecutor once!

Politicians who are the faces of DSA according to right-wingers ie. AOC, Mamdani, Bernie and El Syed are far more intelligent, and have basic human decency than any of these buffoons in the Trump administration.

2 quick points -

you are buying into the right wing McCarthyism propaganda. the Right cannot rely on their records to win this next election, so they have to create a bogeyman or bogeymen.

"they are furries" didnt work. (Tuberville)

"they are soft on the border/the migrant train is coming" didnt work. (even MTG disbelieved)
"they are out to get trump" didnt work. (Schmitt)

"they are communists" is up, and one of the oldest in their playbook, but they are desperate. and fwiw, the dem party is pretty moderate even with DSA involvement.

next up should be "they are killing the babies" and "they are going to mess up the economy (which we already messed up... badly)"..

the reason the democrat party seems to be moving to the right left (thank you bedrock, my error) is because people are fed up with the current republican party and the right wing push. its pushback.
