Anyone know the answer to these questions?

difference between pharmD and RPh

How does healthcare affect pharmacists?

How many prescription drugs are there on the market?

How many hours should a pharmacy student work while studying pharmacy?

I do not. Except the last one, in which I would say 8/week, more in the summer, depending on the student they can titrate up or down as able. Oh and the PharmD is a degree and RPh is a licensed pharmacist.

Follow the money. That is how I would approach the question. I would look for the monetary gain associated with an increase of supply of drugs in 2000. But, I guess I am a bit more cynical than most.

The number of compounds assayed in a large pharmaceutical company in the early 90s rose from 200,000/yr to over 50 million. this didn't result in a commensurate increase in research productivity, although it can take 12-15 yrs for drugs to hit the market, productivity in the early part of the 21st century is an accurate assessment for the success of drug discovery changes. (per my med chem book)
