Hi everyone,
I recently took a Public Speaking course at a community college since my university does not offer it. Does anyone know if the course would be transferable as units? Also, will I need to submit both transcripts to PharmCAS when I apply in the future? Thanks🙂.

transfer of units to your school is something you need to ask your current college advisors, because it depends on if they are willing to accept the units. If your asking about towards pharmacy school, contact one of the admissions counselors or look up their requirements online.

yes you need to send in the transcripts for all college units.

It really doesn't matter whether or not the course is transferable. As long as you took it from an accredited college, all you need to do is send in your transcript to PharmCAS when you apply and it will count towards the speech requirement.

The university counselor said that I should look on assist.org to see if the units are transferable. I don't see the course listed there, so does that mean it's not transferable then? However, when I called the community college, they said it should be transferable but they cannot verify it. What should I do?😕

We've already answered your question regarding what to do; we don't know what schools are involved so we can't really help you. Take the suggestion above and talk to your school counselor or admissions office of pharmacy schools you are applying to

depending on which schools you're applying to, the school website may be of assistance. For instance USC has a articulation table you can use which lists most major schools in the US to see if the course you took is accepted by them. OSU (Oregon) has articultion tables for most major CCs in Oregon, but if you email them, they'll let you know one way or the other. I had to do that for my Micro class.

if you're applying to pharmacy school, you just have to send in your transcript to pharmcas or to the schools you're applying to. what exactly do you mean by transferable units?

I meant transferable as in are the units transferable from the community college to my current undergrad university not to the schools that I will apply to. Although it only counts as units, it would still be nice to have some extra on my transcript. I don't think it is transferable though after speaking with a counselor and the fact that it did not show up on assist.org.
