Genny hadn't shown up for a few days. Discussion was short today - her absence seemed only to increase everyone's suspicions about her true allegiance. Everyone finally headed to her house to figure out where she might be.

Genny was sleeping in bed, apparently dreaming. "Just a little more power... Ha! Made it! Did you see that, Biggs! That's three womp rats to your two!" She punched the air and rolled out of bed, waking herself up. She startled briefly when she saw everyone, but then slowly smiled and stood back up. "You're all here to join the Rebellion! Awesome! Let me tell you, we've got all sorts of great plans. The Emperor won't know what hit her!"

Someone stepped forward in the crowd. "Actually, we were just wondering where you were. We haven't seen you in a couple of days."

Genny smiled sheepishly. "Yeah, I've been training in the evenings to be a Jedi. Lightsaber practice is OK, but those meditations just put me to sleep. I know they're useful for seeing who our enemies are, but they're just so boring. I'm working on it, though! Obi-wan said I need to learn them if I want to be a Jedi, like my father." Her eyes looked into the distance, leaving the crowd out of focus. "Some day, I'm going to be a real Jedi. I want to do some good, get rid of the evil empire." She looked back at the crowd. "I mean, with the things they do - did you hear about Alderaan? That was just awful, even if a peaceful planet like them was practically a sitting mynock - "

Genny had been so engrossed in her story that she hadn't noticed she'd been surrounded. She stopped talking as she felt magnetic cuffs lock her wrists behind her and a blaster poke her in the back. In her panic, she couldn't find the Force and use it to push the officer away.

"Genny, by your own words, you have admitted allegiance to the Rebel faction. The penalty for this is death." The blaster fired, and Genny collapsed on the floor.

But Genny was seen only visiting me. So unless we think she didn't seer someone and only converted me or she both seered and converted me, it wasn't Genny that did the converting last night. Both of those moves would have been stupid for obvious reasons.

So all y'all need to consider someone else.

But there's still 2+ more originals left anyways.

At this point, I feel we still need to focus on the original wolves. Searching for converts might only get us a couple of really bad losses and hard hits for us. Converts are hard to detect, but I can't imagine they would go after Caia. She's not been vetted yet to my knowledge. Especially since Genny was a seer, I don't think she would be the one converting. Chewy is clearly blocking, Genny was seering. Others were doing the killing/converting. Just my two cents. Plus, I think the wolves would have gone after a more trusted player, like LIS.

I totally agree with you that we should go after the originals first. Just wanted to get it out there mainly so I didn't forget. Caia would not be in my top choices of converts as there are a few strong village players, and she was not one of them.

Yes but not necessarily. Convert hunting is tricky at best. While selecting someone trusted as a convert is one valid wolf play, they could easily have decided that that would be the obvious wolf play and instead converted someone who has been flying low under the radar. In that regard, Caia could easily fit.

We also don't know if wolves had to pick a wolf to do the converting, or if it was just a pack action, so genny visiting Caia could mean something or nothing. Either way, I don't think it should be ignored.

Very true, nothing should be ignored! I was just putting that out there because I didn't want to get on a tangent of convert hunting and lynching people who might be helpful.
 
Yay! Glad that was on point. For the record, I think the item only tells you who the person "visited" but doesn't reflect on what they did to them. So I think it's still technically possible Caia was converted on a visit, but highly unlikely.... idk if the norm has changed in games, but I feel like previously any wolf could be chosen to convert and that it usually interfered with their normal ability, so why make the seer do it? Especially in case they get tracked or blocked (particularly considering Genny was expressed as a highly suspicious character so many times yesterday, I figured she would be blocked). So... I'm inclined to definitely move filly bay into my villager pile, and caia into my likely villager pile.

Maybe I'm missing a though process, but want to point out that it's not outside the realm of possibility that the wolf kill is done as a pack, or that the kill isn't isolated to one wolf, but is instead a "bonus" action (to use my DnD terminology) to their normal ability.

Also even if it is a pack action, it would be dumb to presumably seer the person you're about to convert.

But anyway, I'll stop commenting on it now. I just have to poke holes where I see them.

Would it though? It's happened before where wolves submitted someone nonconvertible for conversion and so lost that conversion chance. It's also happened once where wolves "converted" chaos.

I guess in this instance you haven't been someone people have been voting for. Has anyone voted to lynch you this game? That's what I mean about under the radar, no one is thinking you're "strong village" aka "good conversion target" OR "slight wolf" aka "bad conversion target." Just someone in the middle. Unless I've just missed all the discussion about you before today.

Well, if we're going to poke holes....

When Teepster was tracked attacking me, it wasn't obvious to the tracker what he was doing (just that he visited me). It had to be sussed out based on knowing someone not-Teep was protecting me, therefore Teep had to be the one attacking me.

So it stands to reason the mods wouldn't reveal that Genny was converting (or seering or ... whatever) when she visited Caia.

All to say, I don't think it can be ruled out that Genny was converting. Unless I'm missing something.

At the same time, I think this is a back-burner issue. Focus on finding originals, then worry about the fluff.

I agree that it would be dumb to seer+convert the same person the same night.

So seering the person the night before you convert them makes a lot of sense, BUT

I actually agree here that seering them on the same night you convert them is a waste of a night of seering (since after they were converted you'd know everything you needed to know about them).
