Starting out in Community College...Help?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Well at a community college they are going to make you take a placement test. If you already took the test and placed in college level classes, cool. What do you plan on majoring? If you have an idea what you want to go for, look at the universities pre-reqs for that major and complete the hours they request. If you don't know what major you want go into, it's okay just do general studies classes. (Government, history, English, etc..........)

I'd recommend you stay at the CC for at least a year before transferring--that's what most colleges/universities would prefer anyway.

It doesn't matter if you take science courses at a CC, and you should take Bio 1, Chem 1, and some general ed courses like Socio, Philosophy, etc.

Most colleges have specific courses they'd like you to take before you transfer. Review which credits can transfer because its very annoying to find out that the class you took isn't accepted and you wasted your time.

Meet with a transfer specialist at the CC and they should help you from there and answer your questions.

Continue to browse this forum as there is a lot of helpful info on here, especially for premeds.
