if you live in d.c.,what state are you a resident for, va or md? or is it all 48 contiguous states plus hawaii and alaska?

are you just a student in DC now or do your parents live there, did you go to high school there, etc?

i am more curious than anything.. just wanted to know for future reference

For undergrad, DC residents are considered in-state in every state. You won't be considered a resident of VA or MD, as far as I'm aware, because DC is separate. But it could be different for med school.

I believe GW gives some preference to DC residents.

😱 How awesome would this be if it applied to med school? DC here I come.

Yeah, I was in DC for undergrad (am a nontrad now) and if I find that's true for med school I'm totally figuring out a way to use that fact to get residency there, lol.

How lucky is that? In-state tuition in the UC system would come in pretty nifty.
