I was wondering if being a Texas resident (vs a Florida resident) increases your chances of being accepted to a residency program? My parents are moving soon and they are choosing between the two and I was just wondering if they moved to Texas or stayed in Florida would that increase my (and my sister who is in med school) chances of being accepted to a residency program? I don't think they will base the decision around me and my sister but just curious

No, it won't affect your chances. If you or your sister get an interview and was asked why you want to be in the state, you could mention wanting to be closer to your parents but it won't help you or your sister get an interview.
