Stats of Applicants to Irish schools and Acceptance, Waitlist or Rejection

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Anyone gotten any updates about when we should be hearing from RCSI interviews, etc? I know UCC has usually sent out acceptances so that they are received right before RCSI's...so that could be any day I assume? Or seen any credit card charges?

They said it typically takes three weeks but if you did UPS than it should be 2 weeks maybe. I havent checked my bill (Since its my father's credit card) but I'll ask him for the statement soon 😀.

I got an acceptance from UCC. I wonder if I should wait for the other schools rejections/ possible acceptances. If you pay the admission fee, are you automatically rejected from the other schools?

I am in the same position in wondering what to do. I am in the US but have not been home to check the mail. Do you guys have a charge on the credit card you gave too? Where are you located? What do we do! I am still waiting on all the other schools including RCSI post interview.

I application was just completed on Monday because my references were really late. My gpa is really weak so doubtful I'm going to get in but I'm just trying? But what year are you in and what are you applying for?

Hi Chicka,
I am studying Kinesiology at York U and I just recently completed my application through the ABP(confirmed Feb 27). When did you apply??
Does anyone knows of successful applicants who has applied passed the first deadline(pass Jan 15th)??
Thanks and best of luck to all.

Your application will not be considered by the remaining schools if you accept an acceptance unless you specifically contact ABP and tell them that you wish to be considered for the remaining schools. The admissions fee is not refundable as well, so you may also want to consider that.

On my letter it said that we have to pay the deposit by the 26th. I am waiting on some other schools as well. Not sure what to do.

So I contacted them through email, and asked them if they would consider my application for the other schools. I said the non-refundable fee is no problem.

Don't get too greedy now, I know someone who rejected an offer from RCSI in hopes of getting an offer from Trinity and ended up getting rejected from all the schools he applied to.

Now hes reapplying and still has not gotten an interview/offer. I understand some you may prefer other schools over UCC but one offer is usually good enough.

Personally, If I was in your situation I would wait until the 24th to see if any other schools respond to your application and if not, just pay the deposit for UCC (Its a fantastic school either way!).

Good luck!

The first round of offers for RCSI and UCD will be given out before the 26th so depending on which school is your most preferred you may have an easier decision to make in the upcoming weeks. To be honest its probably best to wait for RCSI and UCD to send out their first round offers. How much was the deposit btw?

Any 5 year program offers? from College Dublin or National Galway?

4000 euros OUCH! 😱

I actually didn't get an RCSI interview so I might only hear from UCD. I am probably going to wait around until the 19th or so before I send anything out just to be safe. Also waiting on a status update from Sackler in Israel within the next few weeks.

Got an acceptance letter yesterday from UCC, but no one was home when it was delivered. Managed to get it today. Excited, considering it.

Anyone know roughly when RCSI and UCD release their acceptances?

is Sackler accredited in the US or Canada?

Yeah, I think the interview went well but you never know :scared:

I am in the same situation as the others about having a UCC acceptance and not knowing whether or not to pay the 4000 euro deposit. Deadline is March 26th, I phoned ABP today and asked about UCD acceptances. They don't have an exact date, UCD contacts them whenever they have made their decision but the ABP guy said its usually late march. So for those of you having a UCC acceptance, be ready to pay the deposit because the first round of UCD acceptances may not get to you before then.

Good to know, thanks. Do you guys have any ideas regarding the relative quality of the schools as well as how they might compare for matching back to Canada and/or USA?

I am only familiar with the GEP program but, UCC, UCD and RCSI are all considered to be very good schools on an international level. I believe RCSI matches a little better in Canada and at the interview I asked the interviewer about matching and he said RCSI grads have no problem matching in North America and I'm sure its very similar with UCC and UCD. I can't personally attest to the quality of the schools but, I do know of quite a few exceptional docs who graduated from Ireland. Hope this helps.

Anyone who got an acceptance to UCC and used FedEx, could you tell me when your credit card got charged?

It seems my CC was charged a couple days AFTER I received the FedEx package, if other people had the same thing, it seems we won't be able to use CC billing as a marker for whether we're receiving an offer.

It depends entirely on how quickly the acceptance arrives to your address. Your credit card charges will show up in 3 days or less so if they package arrives in a day or two then it probably wouldn't show up until after. The max 3 days is for my bank also, not sure if that's a constant for all banks.

Anyone accepted to RCSI yet? Specifically from Toronto maybe?

I had my interview on the Wednesday Feb 29th in Toronto,

I applied for the 6 year program and they said I would hear back in 3 weeks, not sure what they said to other candidates.

I'm from Saskatchewan, interviewed in Vancouver for Rcsi 5 year program. They told me i would hear in 2 weeks, it has been 8 days since my interview (it was in the 2nd)

So went back and last year it looks like acceptance letters for RCSI were received on Tuesday and Wednesday. The interviews started one day later than ours. Seems like Canadians also receive their letters first. I also think that rejections come a whole week later. And good point about the credit card charge...doesn't have to show up first. Needless to say its going to be a long week.

Some of us from last year didn't get a credit card charge at all, even when we selected the Fedex/CC option, so don't be disappointed if you don't see anything on you CC bill yet.

Just got an acceptance letter from Rcsi

ditto, just got a phone call telling me there was the FedEx package from AB at my house. 😀 Congrats!

Also, I still don't have a charge on my credit card yet for the shipping in case you guys are using that as a marker. (I'm from Montreal in case that helps for time estimates)

Good luck everyone!

For people who have received offers at the moment, would you be able to tell us:
1. what your stats are
2.what program you applied to
3. if they gave you a conditional offer or unconditional offer attached?

Congratulations once again from those who have gotten in!

Where are you from? (Just in terms of time estimates)

I haven't received anything yet... the wait is killing me.

Hey, do you know if you didn't select the FedEx option in the Atlantic Bridge program if that delays when you're going to get it or not?

And congrats!

My stays are 3.7 GPA, 33R Mcat. I was accepted to the GEP program and the package was received in Barrie, Ontario. I don't have details because I'm in a lecture. I apologize for the lack of details, posting on forums is surprisingly difficult from my phone.

Thanks, Fed ex is usually faster than normal mail in my experience. Stay confident!

is it only RCSI sending out acceptance letters today? anyone received an offer from other schools?

Received an acceptance offer today from RCSI's five-year programme. Federal Express package was dispatched to my flat this morning in here Seattle, WA, USA. Haven't discovered word yet from Trinity.

Question: if one is denied admission to the 4 year program, do they defer you to the 5 year applicant pool? Or are you just rejected entirely?

Count me in for RCSI's five year program. This couldn't have come at a better time! Though, that deposit!!!

For the people who have been accepted to RCSI:
Are your offers conditional or unconditional?

How much is the deposit this year for RCSI for those who were accepted?

I cant wait to hear from Trinity...I dont want to write the MCAT and apply to Caribbean schools 🙁
Trinity's 5-year program is the ideal case for me!
