Also from what I've seen those getting into one of the schools are getting declined from the others

Hey guys,

After reading this forum for weeks, I thought I'd join along.

Anyways, here are my stats..

I'm from: Vancouver, BC
My country of citizenship is: Canadian
Current degree held: BSc. Cell Biology and Immunology
From this university: University of British Columbia
cGPA: ~3.4
sGPA: ~3.3
My MCAT Scores: 32S
I applied to: RCSI, UCD, Trinity, NUI
I had an interview at:
I was accepted at:
I was waitlisted at:
I was rejected from:
I will be attending/first choice:
EC: Leading group of UW pre-med students to Ecuador to build homes, shadowing in ER, OR, OBg. CLF Liver Research. Collegiate rugby. Chihuahua owner 😉

I applied back in Feb. but wrote the MCAT a couple weeks ago (voided it), and so I missed the first round of offers.

Didn't get an interview at UBC 🙁 , so next best option seems like Ireland. Having family in the UK helps.

Good Luck to everyone!!

i emailed rcsi also but didnt get a response back. who did you email and when?

I emailed the standard admissions@rcsi. something

yeah I think that could be the one I did too, the email back wasnt actually from RCSI it was from some man Nealon at ABP? Peter I think?? I dont know him but he said emailing the schools will not move you up, theres lots of applicants, schools need to rifle through hundreds of apps and on and on and onnn. Actually now that I think about it, the email wasnt very pleasant haah so I guess RCSI emailed him and told him to get us under control and stop annoying them or something! Fair enough though I guess, the schools are on to us ohh noooo!

Hey guys I was accepted into the five year program at rcsi a while ago, my stats are on here somewhere to. I know something that I was really concerned about was if the offers are conditional or not, I just thought I would let you know they ARE, I repeat are, conditional. Mine was keeping an 80 in my year of univesity however I know someone who had to keep an 85 in there second year of university. Anyways just thought I would share this as its something I was worried about so I'm sure someone else reading this is too.
Good luck to all still waiting!

Did your application letter say that you needed to keep an 80 or did you contact RCSI. I was accepted to the 4 year GEP and my letter just said I needed to complete my degree.

Not all offers are conditional (minus the standard health and police check). I was given an unconditional offer for the GEP. Whether your offer is conditional/unconditional will depend on your current level of education/progress through your degree.

Mine said in it that I had to maintain that. So far all the 5 year people that I have talked to have been conditional. The gep must not have any conditions.

Do people get their rejections in email or mail? Im still waiting on mine...

dude you are not waiting for a rejection!!! everyone here is getting accepted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #optimism

also are those acceptances to med schools? cuz if that's what you mean you are definately not telling the truth cuz you need at least 2 years uni experience to get into canadian med schools...

Hi, Yes, they are not medical schools. They are all normal undergrad programs like life sciences, arts or the like.

Anybody know what/if other schools sent out rejections other then trinity?

good to know, thank! Do you know if that's for people after first round interviews or even to some that didn't get an interview invitation

From what I've seen it's only been first round... The FAQ that we got from Atlantic bridge second round goes out in may/June

RCSI is the only other one I've seen

RCSI sent out rejections? That gives me a beacon of light haha. How do you know they did? I have not heard back anything from them, so I thought that must mean Im being considered for second round. Has anyone got an interview offer from RCSI for second round?

yeah that is good news, from last year it seems like most of the rejections came out near the end of april and the second round offers werent out until june :/

If you read back a few pages several people have said they've gotten acceptions/rejections. Check pages 27-30

yes but only for trinity. i dont think applicants heard at all from rcsi unless they have been accepted

Am I crazy..I don't see ppl rejected from RCSI :S

I'm just wondering if they are rejecting people as they go, even those that didnt get an interview, or if at the end they simply reject ppl that didnt get an interview/pass the interview

There have been declines as well. Just gotta read and look for them! Hope that helps!

someone wanna call ABP on Monday, and see if rejections have been released all ready for some applicants to RCSI? I have called them too much, so I am gonna wait a while 😀

Id say the rejections if there were any were sent to people who have had interviews maybe?

Yeah a few guys I know got regret letters from RCSI in March after interview. I'm pretty sure all the spots are filled because everyone who has been accepted and has paid deposit like me has access to the RCSI student site and on there it says 88 New people (GEP/ 5/6Year: Total) are starting next oct/sept, and they only take 90.... so don't get your hopes up guys

Has anyone heard from UCC or UCD? Mostly on here I've seen trinity or RCSI

I would be careful who you piss off with phone calls blazers. Atlantic bridge DOES have a roll in the acceptance process and it also doesn't help your chance by constantly calling them or the schools directly. I would just wait it out, in my opinion it seems like your doing yourself more harm than good.

So I called ABP on thursday, and asked them about the timeline of acceptances/rejections, heres what Finbar said:

"They could go out anytime from now to late August."
Thats like answering a math problem with 'zero to infinity'

Anyone else stuck on RCSI's wait-list like I am?

Yikes, sounds bleak for those still waiting. I think the GEP class is pretty close to full as well.

haah it seems like every year theres a group of people who are desperately waiting for news, looks like we're those people this year haahhh

but yeah Im waiting for news for RCSI as well, I guess Ill forget about that then...

then why are they gonna have second round interviews? I know for a fact they are planning to have them, if the class is full. They prob wont accept as many students as they did in first round, but it should still be a decent chunk.
