Hi,

Trying to figure out what the differences between Doctors in training, Fire Cracker or Gunner Training are as far as boards prep.

Did you guys use any one of these? Which one of these is the best resource.

Doctors In Training (DIT) is a lecture series that basically reads First Aid to you. Take a look at the sample video on their website here. I personally didn't find it worth the price ($700).

Firecracker/Gunner Training (different names for the same thing) - it's a collection of flashcards and multiple-choice questions based on First Aid and other resources. People who have the most success with it use it throughout MS2. It's not particularly effective for dedicated prep because of its time consuming nature. They have a free trial, so give it a shot here.

I think you should complete Orientation at a medical school before even LOOKING at Step 1 resources. 😉 ~99% of my class didn't even look at any of that stuff before we received our M2 promotion letters. As for quality, FC sounds useless and DIT... I wasn't impressed with the videos I watched of theirs. First Aid, Pathoma, BRS Physio, Pharm Cards, UWorld, Rx, and a bunch of other supplementary books....

This. There is a full forum full of this information, and in-depth study guides for those who don't want to make their own. Do some searches (either on google or this forum) to figure out what all these resources are.

First year is not for boards in fact neither is 1st half of second.

That forum seems to consist of exactly one thread with 5,000 posts in it, plus a couple of useless FAQ's which give a historical perspective on medical student studying habits during the George Bush administration.

It's not the best organization of information, but the one usmle 2013 thread in there is chock full of tidbits if you can take a few days to read it all.

yeah buddy.... if you are concerned about how to study for med school don't jump the gun with DIT vs GT.
