step 1 scores

hi..
i gave step 1 in early feb..got a 87..recd the scores today..anyone else who gavew the exam around this time....received their scores???
the conversion scale is a tad tougher than earlier...
in order to receive a score of 90, u gotta have 90 atleast in each individual subject...i guess..thats not too easy...if u get less than 90 in any subject, then the score goes in between 87 to 89...
ive got approx 78 to 80 in each subject..
anyone else..pls share ur experience..
hop i get in somewhere..my toefl is 107...and i hav 4 years of clinical experience...

Good luck with the admission process. Your scores look pretty good. Maybe they changed the scales in feb.?

docsmiley what were your exact breakdown per section? Was there a percentage scale in the back that is revised or no? like 87-89 is what percentile 90-92 is what percentile, I wonder did they change that?

it was my understanding that after they changed the format the core solely depends on the number of coorect answers??giving u just a persentage out of a 100 plz correct me if i am wrong

I received it by mail. It is really very quick, so I am not sure is it the final score or there will be another one. where to call to ask? Ada or joint commission (no tell number on the report)

i think its ada...u can chk the no. on the website......so how was ur exam?easy/difficult?

Well, I couldn't say the exam was very hard nor very easy. There were really simple questions you answer right away , but there were also difficult ones. Anyway , at the end I had the feeling that I didn't make it so well. There were ethics questions , I didn't know about this. Some of the tastlets were very easy, others- more tricky. The time is enough , I had many marked questions I gone trough at the end. No diagrams or pictures, no jaw movement questions.

Congrats thats a Grt score. i gave my exam on 2march and just got my score of 76.i was v.stunned & caled ADA but they were like its my final score.

I read from the decks , but also from some textbooks , USLME first aid , a little from Kaplan (anatomy and dental anatomy) . The last month I made the old exams and Crack the NBDE (it was helpful it showed me how hard the exam will be) and that's basically. The decks are good , but you have to know a little more on a topic, and sometimes the decks are confusing, so look trough different sources untill you really understand the item.
And.....don't spend a lot of time in the forums😉 .It is definitely very helpful, but also a little addictive.🙂

About the Crack the NBDE - no, there're no explanations of the answers. Just go to the top of the site , you can buy the program from there. For me - it was helpful , but a little stressful. Do it at the end of your study , when you'll be able to answer more questions !

About the Crack the NBDE - no, there're no explanations of the answers. Just go to the top of the site , you can buy the program from there. For me - it was helpful , but a little stressful. Do it at the end of your study , when you'll be able to answer more questions !

I used a bord review series book for the USLME step 1 (a friend of mine gave it to me) and the decks. I didn't remember anything from biochemistry when I started , so I needed a really good review.

i have NBDE part-1 comp score of 88 (new) but in two of the sections i have got less than 75.....

is it necessary to score more than 75 in each section in new pattern evn if comp score is greater than 75 ???
am i eligible to apply to dental schools??

in new pattern u dont need to score 75 in individual section just your comp. score should be above 75.
