I just found out in the past seven days that I got accepted as a part of the 2014 class at Sullivan. I'm just wanting to let those who are patiently waiting know that invites are going out and being accepted.
 
Is it too late to submit the application now?
 
I just got accepted. I don't think that it's to late to apply. I sent in my app about three weeks ago, got an email last Monday, contacted them on Tuesday then got an interview last Thursday, got my letter last Saturday. It just happened so fast did anyone have the same experience?

YUP! Received an invite the day after they received my app...got accepted the day after my interview. It happened really fast.

i called kieran bennett yesterday, she said the first interview for pacific university in oregon is today. are you sure we are talking about the same school? maybe you are talking about the university of pacific in california?

Lmao yea people still refer to UoP as Pacific as well. Whenever I am talking about the other one I just say Pacific Oregon.

To answer your question I was indeed talking about UoP. I didn't bother doing the supp app for Pacific Oregon.

so you decided to go to UOP for sure? did u interview with sullivan? if so, how did it go?
 
how do you get an acceptance letter two days after the interview...basically they had to write the acceptance letter as soon as you walked out of the building. Doesn't make much sense

I had my interview this week and was told that it would be at least 4 weeks and I don't live incredibly far away...just really confused

Yes. Just paid my deposit.

Yes but I still haven't heard back from them yet. I thought it was ok. I was impressed with the fact that they were making big strides within the specialty I am considering.

congrats. is uop a 3 year program? i thought you were only interested in the 3 years program. i just interviewed with south university on 11/05, i'm going to interview with University of maryland eastern shore on 11/18, and western new england college of pharmacy on 12/3. I got an interview invite from lecom-erie just today, i have find out more details from them. i like the three years program. as for pacific in oregon, kieran said i should hear from them by thanksgiving. i don't know what happened with sullivan. i never heard from them as if they disappeared and i applied in september.

out of those schools i mentioned, only western new england is 4 year, every other school is 3 year, what do you think?

Just got my letter couple days after my interview!!! Is this a guaranteed acceptance or just partial acceptance?

If you think you can manage the 3 yr programs then by all means go for it. I agree with you on that.

PS. UoP is 3 yrs as well.😉

They are usually conditional. As long as you meet the pre-pharm requirements prior to matriculation next July, then you should be OK.👍
 
what about the background check? I have some misdemeanors on my name :/

I went to the november 5th interview and I just found out that I got deferred from south university. my application will be on hold until april. I feel so sad. Did anyone else get deferred too? should I be discouraged?

South University-Savannah-interview 11/05/2010-deferred🙁

i just received my acceptance letter today. YAY! I interviewed last Thursday.

Don't be discouraged. Spots will eventually open up once people start declining seats.

It all depends on when the Ad Com meets to when you have your interview, and how badly they want you.
 
Now the waiting for the acceptance package begins......
 
For the people that interviewed early has anyone gotten any news yet? It's been over 3 weeks and all Paige told me was that decisions are still pending. Anyone in the same boat?

I just got invited to a 2nd round of interviews w/Sullivan. Anyone out there know what this could mean? I know it wouldnt be a bad thing, but just curious if anybody out there knows anyone that has gone through this? Any help would be appreciated!!!

Does this mean this will be your second time interviewing? Good luck!
 
Yes, this will be my 2nd round of interviewing with them. Any tips or advice I should take with me? I know that the questions will prob be more in depth than the first time
 
I hope you live close to the school. That would be a pain to have to travel to the school again.

What are your stats if you don't mind telling?
 
If anyone has any tips or pointers to look out for in a second interview....that would be greatly appreciated!
 
I would say just be yourself, show them how dedicated you are to pharmacy, and how important it is to you. I've never been to a 2nd interview so I really don't know what kind of questions they'll ask. Best of luck!

Be thankful that they're giving you a second look! Honestly, I've kept quiet, but I had a terrible experience at my interview at Sullivan. I'm quite sure that the interviewers didn't even know my name when I left. It was very disheartening and I wish that I had another chance.

The day I interviewed they were running 15 minutes late. When it was my turn to interview they threw another candidate in with me. I understand that some schools do this, but not Sullivan (and it threw me for a loop). My stats are good with the exception that I have zero pharmacy experience. I had prepared for pharmacy questions and had hoped that I could divert the attention onto my strengths. However there was never a chance to do so, because the other candidate had a ton of experience and was capable of answering. While the other candidate was delightful--truly just a sweet person, I felt cheated out of my interview slot.

Essentially I spent a lot of money to fly to KY for them to take a look at me and decide that they weren't interested. I was placed on an "alternate list" during the first round of acceptance letters. It's all been so disheartening as Sullivan was my number one choice for reasons I didn't get to voice.

Either way--feel fortunate that they are interested in you and want to know more about you!

Sorry to hear about your experience. I was wait-listed last year and knew going into a Dec interview that I would be. My advice is to keep updating your info with them. If you're still taking classes, get the highest grades possible and send them your transcript at the end of every semester. Also, as you don't have pharmacy experience, it would be beneficial to at least go volunteer at an independent pharmacy. You could also go take the PTCE and get certified. Finally, you might swing taking the Jan PCAT and send that in when you get your scores. There are a lot of little things you can do between now and next july when classes start to move yourself towards the front of the wait-list. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice!!! I already have a nice PCAT score, so I doubt any change in that will impress Sullivan. I think the pharmacy experience is the key and will definitely work on that. I've finished all pre-reqs, so now I'm just working toward a degree. I'm applying elsewhere in KY, WV, and OH--so my fingers are crossed. I think Dr. Facione saw something in me that he did not like. Immediately. Once we sat down for the interview he never looked me in the eye, but did make eye contact with the other person. The whole thing was strange.

Sorry about your bad feeling of interview; otherwise, I had a good time with my interviewers. Actually, I did not really self-satified about my interview, and I thought that I could do better if I would have another chance. Fortunately, I got accepted.

I think you probably contact Dean Tran to express what happened during your interview, and why you had no chance to prove yourself. Regardless to any weakness or unqualification, every candidate should be treated equally.

Thank you! I actually thought about contacting Dr. Tran, but at this point it would only sound like sour grapes. So, I'll take this as a very expensive lesson learned. I'll be more prepared for this type of situation in the future and most importantly I'll be more assertive in my next interview.

The interview feedback pretty much sums it up. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary.
