Hey guys, is 9 credits in the summer insane? I usually take 6, but never attempted 9; which I'm thinking about doing this summer. Any thoughts? 😛

I took 11 hours last summer and did just fine (3.6)...it is not that bad...IF you don't have to work.

has anyone attempted 18 credits? if so, what is it like (the load)?

that seems a bit impossible. I took 8 credits one summer, which meant I was in class 20 hours a week. I then worked 20 hours a week, and had a ton of studying/homework to do every night because we had a test every friday. It was Physics 1 and 2 which I hated. If you are being serious, I dont think there is any way someone can do 18.

At my undergrad, most classes were 3 credit hours, which meant that takin 9 hours during summer was only three classes. I never did LESS than that and I always thought it was simple.

9 is definately doable... normally i took 12 or so unit (both semester and quarterly)...

16 might be pushing it...

Some schools such as Columbia University (my undergrad school) have two summer sessions. You can indeed take 18 credits over the summer (9 credits per summer session) if you want to... But by the time the summer is over you are going to feel like crap. 😀

im gonna play it safe and do 15 during spring, 9 during summer.
