Hi congrats to those who got accepted. Does anyone mind posting their stats so I can get an idea how competitive the program is.
 
Just got my acceptance letter yesterday! Anyone else heard back yet?
 
Congratulations!! Are you going to live in Brooklyn during the program or will you commute?

I'm planning on living on or around campus. Are you definitely going to Downstate or are you still waiting to hear from other schools?
 
Hey! I got accepted to NYIT and Downstate and I was wondering what all your thoughts are on both programs? I’m having a hard time deciding. Any input would be helpful!

Hey! I was accepted into NYIT and Downstate as well. I think that it's a matter of personal preference in my opinion. I was accepted to NYIT in October and decided to secure a spot since I only had 2 weeks to accept, however I withdrew my registration when I heard back from Downstate. I liked NYIT when I went but I had a good gut feeling when I went to Downstate and felt like it was a program I personally fit into better than NYIT's. With that said, I think that both NYIT and Downstate both have good programs but I would say to research both programs more in depth and maybe meet/talk with students and faculty from both programs to help you decide! It's so stressful only having short periods of time to decide but I found that researching the programs individually has helped me a lot. Best of luck!!

Does anyone have any input on NYU vs. Downstate? I’m struggling to decide between the two.

Same, I think I will decline Columbia even though it's cheaper than NYU due to the curriculum and how I felt when I visited for an info session, but have been struggling to decide between NYU and Downstate. NYU is literally $100,000 more than Downstate; it's the finances holding me back, but the environment at Downstate was wonderful. Honestly it felt like home...

I totally agree. I went to sit in on a class at Downstate and thought it went really well. Because of the in state tuition, downstate is really practical. But in terms of getting there and commuting from home, NYU is much easier to get to and in a way better location. I cant decide if NYU is worth the price. I emailed admissions to see if I could go in tomorrow morning and speak to someone to learn more about the program. Hopefully this will provide some clarity for me. If NYU works out, I would love to go there.
 
Hi! My application for suny downstate still says screening in progress :/ haven’t received any emails from them since I submitted my application. Does anyone know if it’s too late to receive interviews?
 
I just had my interview yesterday and I received my email of acceptance today! I'm not sure if I will be attending though
 
I was wondering how health clearance is going with everyone accepted. Suddenly I am being asked for a lot of things from student health without being given time. It's frustrating with the COVID-19 situation going on right now. I can't get a flu shot and I don't remember that being asked for on the health forms.

The health forms were the worst part to do. I had to go to the doctor 7 different times and had my blood drawn 5 different times. I also didn’t know we needed a flu shot, but I already had one from November from my job. I would definitely email the student health and ask if they can extend it, but that might affect pre-registration. I would email them to see what they can do for you!
 
Hope everyone is well. For those who are attending SUNY Downstate for now, what did you think of the email stating classes are online for the first/summer semester?
 
Congrats on being accepted to Downstate! Does anyone know if they are updating the admissions decision? its almost May and I have yet to hear a decision. I'm already expecting the worse so yea 🙁 Just wanted to know if anyone got a rejection or were put on a waitlist
 
Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone had advice on the interview. Also, does anyone know exactly the cost of the program out of state and the duration? Thanks in advance!!
